On June 2, General Secretary To Lam worked with the Standing Committee of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
The content of the working session focused on 5 important tasks including: Reorganizing and perfecting the apparatus; successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; promoting economic growth; maintaining national defense and security, improving people's lives.

The Standing Committees of the Gia Lai and Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committees have agreed on the principles of reorganizing the apparatus and assigning cadres after the merger of the two provinces.
At the meeting, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Gia Lai Ho Van Nien proposed and proposed to the Central Government with specific mechanisms and policies to support cadres, civil servants, officials and workers on travel and housing expenses when moving to work at the new administrative center in Quy Nhon city, so that officials, public servants, officials and employees are assured of the provincial merger. After merging Gia Lai province and Binh Dinh province, it is recommended that the study has a specific mechanism and policies to ensure national defense and security in the strategic area of the Central Highlands.
The Central Government continues to pay attention to and develop the socio-economy, improving the lives of people, especially in ethnic minority areas. Pay attention to training, fostering, arranging and using ethnic minority cadres with qualifications, capacity and enthusiasm for their work.
Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung also recommended and proposed that the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government pay attention to supporting investment resources to improve and upgrade the transport and irrigation infrastructure system. Especially the routes with inter-regional connectivity, creating favorable conditions for the province to develop stably and sustainably after the merger.
Concluding the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam sent his congratulations to the Party Committee, government and people of the two provinces for the results achieved in poverty reduction, temporary housing removal, and local socio-economic development.
For the recommendations, the General Secretary acknowledged and assigned the Central Office to synthesize and send them to the research agencies for consideration and urgent resolution to ensure compliance with legal regulations in the spirit of maximum support for the locality.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the two localities have many similarities in culture and history, but are still facing many difficulties and challenges in the development process. To build a truly streamlined, strong, effective and efficient two-level government, it is recommended that the two provinces together crystallize their intelligence to move towards the new Gia Lai province.
In particular, the new Gia Lai province needs to establish and implement three strategic breakthroughs that are orientational and lead the entire development process in the new period, including: Breakthrough in development institutions; breakthrough in connecting infrastructure; breakthrough in human resources.
After the merger with an expanded area, the new Gia Lai province needs to continue to promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, pay attention to the lives of people, especially people in remote areas, ethnic minority areas.
