Successfully concluding his state visit to Ireland, on the evening of October 3 local time, General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Dublin Airport, the capital city of Dublin, to attend the 19th Francophone Summit and pay an official visit to the French Republic from October 3-7.
The delegation was seen off at Dublin Airport by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Pippa Hackett; Director of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eamonn McKee; Mayor of Fingal, Dublin Brian McDonagh; Ambassador of Ireland to Vietnam Deirdre Ni Fhalluin; Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concurrently serving in Ireland Do Minh Hung and his wife; and a number of officials and staff of the Embassy of Vietnam to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concurrently serving in Ireland.
During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam held talks with Irish President Michael D. Higgins; met with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris; met with Irish Senate President Jerry Buttimer; received Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Ireland Patrick McKillen; attended a business seminar; witnessed the handover of cooperation documents; visited the National Institute for Biological Research and Training; met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland concurrently serving in Ireland and the Vietnamese community in Ireland.
On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam also planted a souvenir tree at the Irish Presidential Palace; laid flowers at the National Monument; visited Trinity College Dublin and delivered a policy speech...
During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation witnessed the handover of signed documents such as the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi National University and Dublin University, Ireland; Framework Agreement between FPT Corporation and Kyndryl Technology Company; Minutes of cooperation discussion between FPT University and ADAPT Research Center, Dublin University; Framework Agreement between Vietjet and Castlelake Aviation.
General Secretary and President To Lam and Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris witnessed the handover of cooperation documents between a number of ministries and sectors, such as the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Maritime Affairs of Ireland on Vietnam-Ireland cooperation in the field of food system transformation; the Memorandum of Understanding on economic, trade and energy cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of Enterprise, Trade and Employment of Ireland; and the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Higher Education between the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of Ireland.
