General Secretary and President To Lam begins visit to Cuba

On the morning of September 26, Hanoi time, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left New York (USA) for a state visit to Cuba.

According to VNA, on the afternoon of September 25 local time, or the morning of September 26 Hanoi time, after completing activities to attend the Future Summit, the 79th United Nations General Assembly, and work in the US, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left New York for a state visit to Cuba at the invitation of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez and his wife.

The delegation included comrades: Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government;

Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defence;

Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda;

Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security;

Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of Office of the Party Central Committee;

Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central External Relations;

Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Minister of Foreign Affairs;

Nguyen Duc Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; and a number of Party Central Committee members who are Ministers, Provincial Party Secretaries; Assistant to the General Secretary and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Cuba.
