Indonesia was the first country in Southeast Asia to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam on December 30, 1955. The traditional friendship established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno has been continuously nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Towards the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, Vietnam and Indonesia are striving to strengthen cooperation to bring practical benefits to the people of each country, while continuing to develop the traditional friendship and strategic partnership more deeply and substantially.
