According to VNA, on the occasion of attending the opening meeting of the Peace Council on Gaza in Washington D.C (USA), on the evening of February 19 (local time), General Secretary To Lam met with the community and Vietnamese representative agencies in the US.
Reporting to the General Secretary and members of the delegation on the activities of the Vietnamese community in the US, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung said that the Vietnamese community in the US is currently a large community, increasingly deeply integrated, affirming its role in the fields of science and technology, education, health, finance, business and social life.
The Vietnamese community in the US always looks towards the country, has been and is actively contributing, ready to accompany the country with knowledge, experience, resources and specific initiatives in the new development stage.
Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung affirmed that in the context of the country entering a new era of development, Vietnamese representative agencies in the US are striving to improve the quality of service to the Vietnamese community, do a good job of citizen protection and strengthen community connections with the country, contributing to the effective implementation of the Party's foreign policy in the new period.
At the meeting, many opinions expressed by the Vietnamese community in the US expressed that the presence of the General Secretary is not only concern, but also a source of encouragement and guidance for the Vietnamese community in the US to continue to promote their intelligence, bravery and sense of responsibility, contributing to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new era.
General Secretary To Lam sent to the entire Vietnamese community in the US warm feelings, cordial greetings and wishes for a new year full of health, peace, happiness, prosperity and success.
The General Secretary shared that Vietnam's participation in the Gaza Peace Council as a founding member is a foreign affairs milestone, affirming a new mindset, new spirit, and new actions to contribute effectively in the new era.
The General Secretary was pleased to see that the Vietnamese community in the US is increasingly deeply integrated, always looking towards the Fatherland with the desire to make practical contributions to the cause of building and protecting the country.
The fact that people comply with local laws, actively participate in economic - trade - investment, science - technology, and innovation cooperation activities is also a practical contribution to the country and to consolidating the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Congratulating the achievements of the Vietnamese community in the US in all fields, the General Secretary affirmed that the Party and State always welcome and create favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, scientists, and entrepreneurs to contribute more to the cause of national development, especially in key areas in the new development stage of the country.
The Party and State will improve policies for overseas Vietnamese, and at the same time strengthen coordination with localities to protect the legitimate rights and interests of people, helping people feel secure in living, working and developing in the locality.
The General Secretary emphasized that the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part, a flesh and blood, a part of the great national unity bloc and also an important driving force of the country. The consistent policy of our Party and State is to always care for and take care of the Vietnamese community abroad.
