Prepare necessary conditions to maximize the advantages of Long Thanh Airport
According to Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Vu Hong Van: Dong Nai province always identifies Long Thanh International Airport and Dong Nai River as potential, advantages, and important driving forces for economic development in the coming time. Therefore, Dong Nai province has prepared the necessary conditions to maximize the advantages when Long Thanh Airport comes into operation.

In particular, for the issue of connecting traffic to Long Thanh Airport, route No. 1, route No. 2, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway connecting to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, and the inter- port road have been completed.
Dong Nai province with the highest political determination has completed compensation and support for more than 7,200 households and 18 organizations whose land was reclaimed in the Long Thanh Airport Project area. At the same time, resettlement was arranged for 5,793 households, handing over 100% of the site to the investor with a total area of about 5 thousand hectares to implement the Long Thanh Airport Project.
At the same time, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway; Ben Luc - Long Thanh; Long Thanh - Ho Tram; Ring Road 3.4 - Ho Chi Minh City; intra-provincial traffic routes such as: 25B, 25C, 769E and other related routes are under construction. The North-South high-speed railway; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway; extending the urban railway from Suoi Tien to the Dong Nai Provincial Political - Administrative Center and Long Thanh Airport; Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway is also urgently completing documents for implementation.

In addition, Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City have agreed to coordinate the implementation of transportation projects connecting the two localities such as: Cat Lai Bridge, Long Hung Bridge, Phu My 2 Bridge and are studying the fastest transportation connection options from Tan Son Nhat Airport to Long Thanh Airport.
In addition, Dong Nai province is also implementing the planning of Long Thanh Airport urban area with a total area of 43,000 hectares according to the modern, green, smart Airport City model, connecting globally to make Long Thanh a leading international aviation - logistics center in Southeast Asia. In particular, Dong Nai province has also identified the main driving forces for exploitation.
Developing a specific resolution for the development of Dong Nai province
At the meeting, comrade Vu Hong Van also proposed to the central government issues for Dong Nai province to complete the double-digit economic growth target for the entire 2025-2030 term and meet the basic targets of becoming a centrally-run city by 2030.

According to comrade Vu Hong Van, currently, 10 provinces and cities across the country have been issued a pilot resolution by the National Assembly on specific policies for development. Dong Nai province has a large population, large economy, and an important strategic position in the Southeast region, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, but still does not have specific mechanisms and policies on investment, land, and transport infrastructure.
Therefore, Dong Nai province proposed that the General Secretary and the Politburo approve the policy for the Government to summarize and evaluate the results of implementing specific mechanisms and policies as a basis for developing a Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Dong Nai province in a number of areas similar to Resolution 98 applied to Ho Chi Minh City so that the two localities have the same mechanisms and policies to attract investment and build inter-regional transport infrastructure.

At the same time, the province recommended that the Government pay attention to synchronously approving the policy mechanism for the free trade zone of Dong Nai province associated with Long Thanh Airport and the Cai Mep Ha free trade zone associated with seaports to connect the two free trade zones, supporting each other to compete with international free trade zones.
Proposal to approve the policy of adding the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line extension project to Dong Nai province and Long Thanh Airport to the list of urban railway pilot projects with a number of specific mechanisms and policies according to Resolution No. 188/2025/QH15 (dated 19-2-2025) of the National Assembly.
Dong Nai province also proposed that the Central Government allow the review and adjustment of the population of the Long Thanh - Nhon Trach area to reach 2.5 million people in the Dong Nai Provincial Planning in the planning adjustment period being implemented as a basis for forecasting, calculating, and planning land funds to anticipate the investment wave of large, capable, and experienced investors interested in investing in this area.

Along with that, it is recommended that the Government direct ministries and branches to consider and supplement the planning of the East-West expressway section through Dong Nai province to synchronize the expressway from Hoa Lu Border Gate, Central Highlands region to Long Thanh Airport.
In response to the recommendations of Dong Nai province, General Secretary To Lam said: The recommendations of Dong Nai province are completely appropriate. The General Secretary agreed with Dong Nai's recommendations. Dong Nai has this as a basis for double-digit growth, accelerating the progress and effective exploitation of the Long Thanh Airport Project, making Dong Nai province the economic center of the Southeast, the economic focus of the South, Vietnam and Southeast Asia in general.
