The General Secretary and the working delegation inspected the implementation of two projects (Traffic route to Hon Khoai Island and Hon Khoai Bi-use General Port) implemented by the Navy and Army Corps 12.
According to VNA, at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam stated that the construction of a traffic route to Hon Khoai Island and Hon Khoai Dual-use Port will contribute to the formation of a complete "ecosystem" of infrastructure to realize the aspiration to reach the great sea of Ca Mau - a land rich in patriotism and revolutionary traditions, opening a new vision for the development of the southernmost continent in the new era of development.
In terms of economy, Hon Khoai will be an important connection point of the Mekong Delta Key Economic Zone, reducing transportation and logistics costs, reducing the burden on the port system in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region, bringing agricultural and aquatic products to be exported directly to international shipping routes, opening up new development space for Ca Mau, maximizing the potential of the sea and the ability to develop the local economy, continuing to promote high-quality processing and logistics services, forming a new international trade gateway for Vietnam.
The General Secretary requested that the province continue to accelerate the completion of the Project to develop the Hon Khoai archipelago to be strong in economy, strong in national defense and security, closely following national planning, efficiency and resource capacity; It is necessary to plan well the military zone, semiconductor zone, economic zone and ecological zone of the Hon Khoai archipelago to have a synchronous investment direction such as energy infrastructure, transportation, telecommunications, military works, deep-water port works, storm shelters...
The General Secretary emphasized that Hon Khoai is not just a project - that is the oath of the nation, a step forward for an aspirational and self-reliant Vietnam. Aiming at a big task, urgent time, harsh conditions, but the Vietnamese spirit has never given up: difficulties are just a test, storms are just a pass, will is the decisive power.
Absolutely do not ignore the task of defense
The General Secretary requested all soldiers to strongly promote the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers, determined to exceed the set plan. Let each officer, soldier, and worker on the island deeply engrave this: Each spire, each sea stake is a mark of the Fatherland. The tray is difficult not to bring down. Deep seas and high waves cannot stop the determination. The more difficult it is, the more determined it is. Because we are building not only a seaport, but a position of the country on the great sea; not only paving the way to the island but also paving the way for the future of Vietnam.
The General Secretary noted that the defensive task must never be neglected. Along with building infrastructure, all forces must maintain the highest combat readiness status, ensure site security, force safety and proactively control all situations at sea.
The General Secretary hopes that cadres, soldiers, the Party Committee of the Ca Mau government and the team of cadres, engineers, and workers will promote the spirit of: No matter how heavy the task is, be determined to complete the progress; emphasize, build ports faster than the waves, build bridges more solidly than stone, and open the way to sea with the steel will of the Vietnamese people. So tomorrow, when the Fatherland looks to the extreme South, when history calls it Hon Khoai, we will hear: A Hon Khoai rises - a Vietnam rises.
