At noon on November 19, Mr. Le Quang Thach - Chairman of the People's Committee of La Lay commune (Quang Tri province) said that in the morning of the same day, the rescue force had salvaged the tractor-trailer in the case of a driver missing while crossing a flooded culvert.
At the scene, the tractor was swept away by the strong flood from the A Rong Tren culvert (La Lay commune) about 50m and crashed into a shore.
When the car was towed up, the front of the car and the truck's body were deformed and severely damaged by floodwaters. At noon of the same day, the rescue unit used a crane to bring the vehicle to shore, attracting many people to witness.

Mr. Thach said that the locality has mobilized more forces and expanded the search area for the missing driver.
Yesterday, people discovered a pants with a belt and a driver's key, drifting into a stream in Ta Rut commune, about 5km from the accident site.
Then, on November 18, information spread on social networks about the rescue of a truck driver in Quang Tri. The People's Committee of La Lay commune confirmed that this information was untrue.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at noon on November 17, Mr. N.V.Th (residing in Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province) was driving a tractor-trailer from the direction of La Lay International Border Gate (Dakrong Commune, Quang Tri Province) to the inland. Taking advantage of the heavy rain, the driver drove a truck to avoid the barrier and the sign prohibiting it from crossing to cross the overflow bridge in A Rong Tren village, which was flooded.
At this time, the river water was flowing rapidly, 30-60 cm higher than the bridge surface. When the vehicle reached the middle of the bridge, the top of the cabin was pushed away from the bridge wall by the water. The driver was stuck to the rear of the car. About 15 minutes later, the entire vehicle overturned 20m from the bridge, the driver was swept away by the water.
