General Secretary To Lam hopes that Vietnam and Bulgaria will cooperate in the production of drones and remote electronic equipment.

Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria from October 22 to 24, on the morning of October 24 local time, General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited Bulgaria's Samel-90 Defense Industrial Company. Accompanying him was President of the host country Rumen Radev, according to VNA.

Here, President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev directly introduced to General Secretary To Lam about Bulgaria's defense industry, emphasizing the key capabilities and products of Samel-90 Defense Industry Company.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Bulgaria's defense industry and Samel-90 Company's capacity with quality products that have been verified.

The General Secretary said that Vietnam has a policy of building and developing a proactive, self-reliant, self-reliant, dual-use and modern defense industry, becoming the spearhead of national industry to protect independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; a policy of multilateralization, diversification, equal cooperation, mutual benefit to all partners, including Bulgaria.

On the basis of the good traditional friendship and the newly established Vietnam - Bulgaria Strategic Partnership, defense relations and defense industry cooperation play an important role in the overall relationship between the two countries, General Secretary To Lam hopes to share experiences, promote defense cooperation in general and defense industry cooperation in particular between the two countries in the coming time; cooperate in the production of drones and electronic remote sensing equipment.

With the experience and capacity of Samel-90, the General Secretary suggested that the company discuss and coordinate with functional agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and Vietnamese defense enterprises in specific areas, in accordance with the needs and capabilities of each side.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam are ready to support and create conditions for Samel-90 Company and prestigious defense industry enterprises of Bulgaria to exchange with Vietnamese defense industry enterprises to introduce products, learn about areas of cooperation suitable to the needs and capabilities of the two countries, and participate in displaying products at the International Defense Exhibition in Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam believes that on the basis of the strategic partnership and defense industry cooperation between the two countries in general, between Bulgaria's Samel-90 defense industry company and Vietnam's defense industry partners in particular, there will be new, more substantial and more effective developments.

Samel-90 Defense Industry Company, headquartered in Samokov, nearly 60km from the capital Sofia, is an electronics and defense enterprise founded in 1964 with the initial mission of providing electronic communications equipment to the Bulgarian Army, later expanding to civilian products.

Today, Samel-90 is considered a typical Bulgarian defense enterprise in the field of military electronics and communications. The company representative introduced advanced defense technologies in the fields of multi-prone screening, technology for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles, and manufacturing drones for communication.
