General Secretary To Lam welcomed the visit to Vietnam of the Chairman of GE Vernova Group, highly appreciated the Group's investment and business results in Vietnam, making practical contributions to the strong development of Vietnam as well as the Vietnam-US relationship that the Group has directly witnessed in more than 30 years of operation in Vietnam.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam considers the US as one of the most important partners, wishing cooperation between the two countries to continue to develop in accordance with the comprehensive strategic level, in which economic, trade, investment, science and technology and innovation cooperation continue to be the main driving force, a model for mutually beneficial cooperation in international relations.
General Secretary To Lam also recalled the good impressions in the meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House during his participation in the opening meeting of the Peace Council on Gaza in the US. The two sides exchanged practical views and agreed on directions for the development of relations between the two countries in the coming time.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam always values and creates favorable conditions for US energy corporations to invest and do business in Vietnam, bringing practical benefits to people and businesses of the two countries, contributing to the development of bilateral relations. The General Secretary welcomed GE Vernova to organize the annual "Future Energy Creativity" Conference in Vietnam with many practical topics. The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam is ready to be a bridge and gateway to promote cooperation between GE Vernova and countries in the region, especially ASEAN.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized the top importance of energy for Vietnam's breakthrough development goals, requesting GE Vernova to continue to promote its potential and rich experience, promote deeper cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of infrastructure, technology and human resources in energy, and be an important partner of Vietnam in implementing Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo on ensuring national energy security to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
For his part, Chairman cum CEO of GE Vernova Group Scott Strazik congratulated General Secretary To Lam on his re-election and success of the 14th National Party Congress, expressing his honor to have the General Secretary spend time receiving him during his first visit to Vietnam as Chairman of the Group. Mr. Strazik happily shared the results of cooperation and the strong development of GE Vernova Group in Vietnam over the past 30 years, which is an important foundation for the group to open up practical strategic cooperation ideas and projects in Vietnam in the future.
Mr. Strazik also affirmed the vision of Vietnamese leaders, with Vietnam's open policy environment and impressive growth being a great source of inspiration for the group. Accordingly, the group chose Vietnam as the first Asian country to organize an annual energy conference, gathering more than 100 leaders of leading energy corporations in the world, thereby opening a new development phase in GE Vernova's cooperation with Vietnam and the region.
