On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27,47-1947 - July 27, 2025), on the afternoon of July 15, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Group visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers at Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center (Ninh Xa Ward, Bac Ninh Province).
Accompanying him were comrades: Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; comrades: Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, Le Thanh Long, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; comrades of the Party Central Committee, leaders of departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and Bac Ninh province.
Established in 1965, the Center is currently caring for, treating and implementing policies for 84 war invalids and seriously ill soldiers of level 1/4, from 13 provinces and cities across the country. Of which, 51 war invalids and sick soldiers were injured during the resistance war against the US; 33 war invalids and sick soldiers were injured during the period of protecting the northern and southwestern borders, volunteer soldiers in Laos, Cambodia and during the period of building and defending the country.
Of the 84 disabled soldiers and sick soldiers, 5 were female; some were children of ethnic minorities such as Tay, Nung, and Pa Co. The disability of war invalids and sick soldiers being treated at the center, most of whom are injured in the spine from vertebrae C1 to C7, D1 to D12 and L1 to L5, causing hemiplegia, all daily activities must be moved by wheelchairs and axles.
The remaining war invalids and sick soldiers have combined injuries such as amputation of both arms, amputation of both legs, broken eyes, head wounds... However, for more than 60 years, with dedication, dedication, and responsibility, considering the war invalids and sick soldiers as their relatives, the Center's officers, civil servants, and workers who do not mind the hardships day and night to care for, treat, and complete all assigned tasks well, worthy of the trust of the Party, State, and people, helping them have a happy, optimistic, stable life in mind, and feel secure in nursing and treatment...
Speaking intimately to the war invalids and sick soldiers who have made great contributions to the country, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, General Secretary To Lam expressed his deep gratitude, sincere feelings and great admiration to you - those who fought bravely, gave your youth and bodies for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Affirming that despite the disabilities left by war, they always maintain their qualities, will, faith and optimism, truly being shining examples for the younger generations to be proud of, learn from and follow.
At the same time, he commended the efforts, dedication, and responsibility of the staff, doctors, and nurses of Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center - those who are silent but full of love, contributing to bringing warmth, safety, and the best care to war invalids and sick soldiers.
General Secretary To Lam shared: Our Party, State and people have always been consistent with the viewpoint that People with revolutionary contributions are precious assets of the nation, a sacred symbol of patriotism and Vietnamese morality. The work of "Retitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" is not only a major policy, but also an order from the heart, political responsibility, and morality of the entire political system and the whole society".
The General Secretary requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities and organizations of Bac Ninh province continue to pay attention to and take better care of the material and spiritual life of war invalids, sick soldiers and meritorious people. Not only care but also create conditions for you to continue to contribute, spread the will and positive values of life to the community.
The General Secretary hopes that war invalids and sick soldiers will continue to promote the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", live happily, live well, and be a shining example for their children and grandchildren to follow. Each person is a vivid symbol of the will and determination of Vietnam - a vivid testament to the indomitable, indomitable, steadfast spirit, continuing to be the flame that inspires the revolution for future generations.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches of Bac Ninh province presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers being treated at the Center; representatives of 5 martyrs' families who were awarded the Certificate of "Fatherland's Merit" by the Prime Minister in June 2025 (these are 5 cases of war invalids and sick soldiers being treated at the Center for victims of special recurrent injuries); the collective of staff and employees of Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center.
Earlier, on the same afternoon, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025), General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Group, along with the leaders of Bac Ninh province, offered incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs of Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center, in memory of the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
