On the afternoon of January 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam warmly received a high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) led by Mr. Ouch Borith, member of the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee and First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate, on the occasion of the delegation's visit and work in Vietnam, reported VNA.
General Secretary To Lam welcomed Mr. Ouch Borith's visit to Vietnam and highly appreciated the significance of the visit in deepening the traditional friendship between the two parties and two countries.
General Secretary To Lam warmly congratulated Cambodia on the great and important achievements in all fields in the cause of national construction and development under the wise reign of King Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly and the administration of the Government with the CPP as the core.
Mr. Ouch Borith expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam again and sincerely thanked the General Secretary for taking the time to receive the delegation.
Mr. Ouch Borith firmly believes that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude for the warm sentiments and support that Cambodia has given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and in the present-day nation-building process.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and appreciation for the development of the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world; affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam attach special importance to developing relations with Cambodia and the Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos relationship.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to expand deeper, more substantive and more effective cooperation in various fields, including increasing exchanges and contacts between high-ranking leaders of the two countries, discussing measures to promote connectivity between the two economies, increasing bilateral trade turnover, and coordinating to maintain political stability, security, order and social safety in each country.
Mr. Ouch Borith expressed his deep gratitude for the great, valuable, timely and effective support and assistance that Vietnam has given to Cambodia in the struggle to protect independence and help Cambodia escape the genocidal regime in the past, as well as in the current national construction.
Mr. Ouch Borith affirmed the desire and high determination of the Cambodian leaders and people to continue to foster and preserve the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two peoples of Cambodia and Vietnam.
On the same day, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for External Relations, held talks with the delegation.
At the talks, the two sides focused on assessing the relationship between the two parties in recent times, and delved into the contents and measures to strengthen and develop the relationship between the two parties and the two countries in the coming time; thereby continuing to foster the solidarity and friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia to be forever green and everlasting.
