General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping jointly announced the launch of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.

On January 15, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025) and in the excited atmosphere as the people of the two countries prepare to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year 2025.

According to VNA, the two leaders highly appreciated the significance of the phone call, which was an important and very good start of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year, demonstrating the high regard and top priority of each side for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, and orienting effective cooperation activities between the two Parties and the two countries in 2025 and the following years.

On the occasion of the upcoming New Year of At Ty 2025, the two General Secretaries sent New Year greetings to the two Parties, two countries and two peoples, wishing that the cause of building socialism in each country will achieve even greater new achievements, that the people of the two countries will be healthy and prosperous, and that the relationship between the two Parties and two countries will continue to develop healthily and stably, contributing positively to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping jointly announced the launch of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025; agreed to coordinate well in organizing activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025; and step up propaganda and education among all classes of people, especially the young generation of the two countries, about the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

The two General Secretaries agreed to continue to strengthen strategic exchanges between the two Parties and countries, especially high-level exchanges that have strategic implications for the overall bilateral relationship; improve the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms on the Party, Government, National Assembly/National People's Congress, Fatherland Front/CPPCC channels; promote defense and security cooperation commensurate with its role as one of the important pillars of the bilateral relationship; create new breakthroughs in economic cooperation, prioritize accelerating the connection of three standard-gauge railway lines between the two countries, expand trade and investment cooperation and in emerging fields.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping welcomed Vietnam's efforts to promote quality to expand the consumption of high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products in the Chinese market.

The two leaders also shared information about the situation of each Party and each country; agreed to increase the exchange of experiences and theories in building socialism; and coordinate on international and regional issues, contributing to promoting peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that both sides direct sectors and levels to actively seek effective methods and measures to better control and resolve disagreements, and enhance cooperation in accordance with the level of bilateral relations on the basis of the United Nations Charter and international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife to visit Vietnam again in 2025. General Secretary and President Xi Jinping thanked and happily accepted the invitation.
