On July 30, the Government Office announced that it had just issued Official Letter 7067/VPCP-CN assigning the competent authority to implement the investment project to build Hieu Liem 2 Bridge.
The document stated: Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Finance (Document No. 11047/BTC-KTDP dated July 21, 2025) on assigning the competent authority to implement the Hieu Liem 2 bridge construction project, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Finance on assigning the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as the competent authority to implement the above project.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province to receive the opinions of the Ministry of Finance, implement the investment in Hieu Liem 2 Bridge in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality and progress.
The Hieu Liem 2 bridge construction project has a total length of nearly 1.5km, including Hieu Liem 2 bridge across Be river, 150m long, the approach road on the Binh Duong (old) side, now Ho Chi Minh City, is more than 1.2km long, the approach road on the Dong Nai side is about 100m long.
The project started at the entrance to Hieu Liem ferry terminal, Hieu Liem commune, Bac Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province (old) now Ho Chi Minh City; the end point intersected with Hieu Liem street, Hieu Liem commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province (old).
The project is divided into 2 investment phases, each phase is the construction of a single bridge 2m apart with a scale of 2 mixed lanes. In phase 1, the project is proposed to build a single bridge with a cross-section of 14m. The project has a total estimated investment of nearly 362 billion VND.
