On April 22, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to honor 60 outstanding individuals who have made many outstanding contributions to the cause of building, protecting and developing the city in the period of 1975 - 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc was emphasized that the outstanding achievements that Ho Chi Minh City achieved in the past 50 years were crystallized from the Central Government's attention and guidance, the support of the localities throughout the country, especially the solidarity and efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the strong companion of the people and the business community.
During that journey of half a century, many generations have silently devoted themselves to the development of the city named after Uncle Ho.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, the 60 individuals honored this time have left a strong impression in the work of building, protecting and elevating Ho Chi Minh City to become a special city, a major economic - cultural - educational center of the country.
The honored people come from many classes and many different working positions: from cadres who participated in the resistance war, high-ranking leaders of the country, to intellectuals, artists, scientists, doctors, teachers, businessmen, journalists...
Regardless of their position, they all have one thing in common: passionate patriotism, tireless dedication and the desire to contribute to enriching Ho Chi Minh City and the country.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed: "The 60 individuals honored are not only outstanding people in ethics, intelligence, and talent, but also examples that have a profound influence on the city's political and social life. They have, are and will continue to inspire future generations to follow, spreading positive and sustainable living values".

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, the ceremony is not only an opportunity to express gratitude and recognize valuable contributions but also an affirmation of the great role of outstanding individuals in the sustainable development of the city.
