Ho Chi Minh City requests voter cards to be issued to people no later than March 10th

Ho Chi Minh City - Ho Chi Minh City Police are assigned to complete the printing of voter cards and hand them over to the commune-level People's Committee on March 6, ensuring delivery to people no later than March 10.

On March 6, the Steering Committee for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term of Ho Chi Minh City (referred to as the Ho Chi Minh City Election Steering Committee) issued a notice of conclusions of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Election Steering Committee Tran Luu Quang at the 2nd meeting of the Steering Committee.

According to the conclusion, the Ho Chi Minh City Election Steering Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Police to continue reviewing, adjusting and updating voter lists by household, neighborhood, hamlet, village and residential area; at the same time, standardizing information in voter lists, ensuring completeness, accuracy and not missing voters.

Ho Chi Minh City Police are requested to urgently complete the printing of voter cards and hand them over to the commune-level People's Committees no later than March 6, so that localities can organize the issuance of cards to people, ensuring completion no later than March 10.

In addition, commune-level police forces will be guided to carry out the listing, monitoring, summarizing and reporting on the voter turnout situation in accordance with regulations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Election Steering Committee also requested the Ho Chi Minh City Election Commission, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Police, and the Steering Committee and the Election Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to continue to fully prepare the necessary conditions for successfully organizing the election.

Accordingly, the election must be organized democratically, equally, in accordance with the law, safely and economically; at the same time, creating an atmosphere of excitement among the people, so that the election day truly becomes a festival for the whole people.

Relevant agencies and units are also required to provide complete, accurate and timely information and documents on socio-economic development, national defense - security; population characteristics, religion, ethnicity, customs, habits; as well as issues of concern to voters, recommendations and development orientations of the constituency.

This information aims to create conditions for candidates to study and develop practical and feasible action programs suitable to the functions and tasks of elected representatives. The provision of information must ensure compliance with the provisions of the law on elections, objectivity and fairness, creating favorable conditions for candidates to meet with voters according to the plan and guidance of competent authorities.

At the same time, localities need to have appropriate forms of propaganda so that voters can clearly understand the biography, working process, qualifications, capacity and action programs of candidates, as well as the official list of candidates according to regulations.

In addition, units need to regularly review and update voter lists to create favorable conditions for all citizens to fully exercise their voting rights in accordance with the law.

The election day for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term officially takes place on March 15, 2026.

Ho Chi Minh City has 13 electoral units for National Assembly deputies, with 64 candidates to elect 38 National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, term 2026 - 2031.

For the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, the whole city has 42 electoral units, with 208 candidates to elect 125 delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council of the XI term, term 2026 - 2031.
