On the morning of May 15, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh chaired the first meeting of the Steering Committee for the "Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (Exhibition).
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said that the Steering Committee was established under Decision No. 785/QD-TTg dated April 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister.
The Steering Committee is assigned the task of advising and proposing specific and effective plans and solutions to implement the activities of the Exhibition; directing relevant ministries, agencies and localities to closely coordinate and focus on promptly resolving difficulties and problems in the implementation process.
The exhibition is an event of special significance to prepare for the key activity to celebrate the glorious 80th anniversary of the nation, part of a series of large-scale, national and international activities with profound political, cultural and social values.
To complete a large and elaborate workload, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed to review and agree on many important contents, including identifying and expected to clearly assign tasks to each ministry, department, branch and locality, ensuring close and effective coordination in the process of organizing the Exhibition.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh has directed specialized agencies to select data, images, and information that honestly and vividly reflect outstanding achievements in socio-economic development of the industry, field, and locality to send to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for synthesis.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and, based on the registration and reporting of ministries, branches, agencies and localities, synthesize the exhibition organization plan.
Regarding the draft Regulation on organization and operation of the Exhibition Steering Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism receives the members of the Steering Committee of the Exhibition, urgently completes the draft Regulation and submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Head of the Steering Committee before May 20, 2025.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to receive opinions of the members of the Exhibition Steering Committee urgently completed the draft Project to organize the exhibition, send to the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Committee (the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee) to report to the Standing Committee of the Secretariat, the Head of the Central Steering Committee.
Regarding the budget and financial plan for implementation, based on the overall proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and ministries, branches and localities, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance to synthesize and balance resources for implementation.
Due to the short time and large scale, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that members need to be determined, take drastic actions, and uphold their sense of responsibility to organize the Exhibition with the best quality.
