Awarding medals and congratulating the Hanoi Police, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - affirmed that Hanoi is a national political and administrative center, with a special position in the development process of the nation.

General Luong Tam Quang said that in the coming time, there will be heavier requirements and tasks, requiring the Hanoi Police force to continue to be proactive in combat work so as not to be passive, not to follow criminals and to uphold the spirit of serving the people.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung promised to promote the spirit of solidarity, build a truly "clean, strong, revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern" force.

Also last week, on July 31, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police solemnly held a ceremony to award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department.
As a result, from 2020 to present, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Thanh Hoa Provincial Police) has arrested more than 3,670 cases, over 6,450 subjects, seizing nearly 92.4 kg of heroin, 235 kg of synthetic drugs; dozens of guns, bombs and more than 2,000 subjects organizing, buying, selling, and illegally using drugs were handled.
Not only fighting on traditional battlefields, the unit also promptly identified and destroyed newly arising drug rings such as laughing gas (N2O). In the first months of 2025 alone, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department has dismantled 2 major rings, seized nearly 17.3 tons of finished N2O gas, more than 180 tons of raw materials, 4 production lines and determined transactions of up to more than 1,000 billion VND/year.
With those outstanding achievements, on April 28, 2025, the President signed a decision to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Thanh Hoa Provincial Police).
At the ceremony, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - awarded the title of Hero of the President's People's Armed Forces to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Thanh Hoa Provincial Police); awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security to 10 collectives with outstanding achievements in the movement to protect national security.
The Minister of Public Security requested the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department to continue to promote the traditional position of the People's Armed Forces Heroic Unit, continue to affirm the role of the core force on the front line of drug crime prevention and control... Advising on the effective implementation of the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030, maintaining the achievements and striving to achieve the goal of 50% of communes and wards in the province having no drugs by 2030.
