On the afternoon of February 2nd, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and delivered a directing speech at the Ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Law and Justice Committee of the National Assembly (March 4, 1946 - March 4, 2026).
Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that there are only 2 months left until the beginning of the 16th National Assembly term - a term associated with the transformation period of the country, entering a new era, an era of rich and prosperous development of the nation.
The Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress has identified the need for a strong breakthrough in institutions, making the legal system a competitive advantage and a new driving force for the country's development.
That requirement sets very big tasks for the National Assembly, especially in building a synchronous development institution. Therefore, the tasks set for the Law and Justice Committee are very heavy but also very glorious" - the National Assembly Chairman pointed out.
To contribute to the successful implementation of tasks in the new period, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested the Committee to play a core role in advising and assisting the National Assembly Party Committee in leading the institutionalization of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; urgently complete and submit to the Politburo the Project on legislative orientations for the 16th National Assembly term.
At the same time, continue to research and innovate legislative procedures and techniques, ensuring the building of a scientific, professional, modern, effective, and efficient legislative system...
Along with that, the Committee continues to advise on consolidating the organization and operation of judicial agencies, meeting the requirements of judicial reform.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested the Committee to well implement the work of supervising legal normative documents, supervising the organization of law enforcement; considering this as one of the breakthroughs in the 16th National Assembly term in accordance with the spirit of the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the opening session of the 14th Congress, which is "taking implementation as a measure, resolutely overcoming the situation where the law is right but difficult to implement, in the hall it is clear, at the grassroots level it is difficult, the policies are right but implementation is slow".
The National Assembly Chairwoman noted to continue to improve legislative capacity, constantly care for fostering and building a contingent of cadres and civil servants with firm political bravery and proficiency in professional skills to advise accurately and correctly on major policies and guidelines on national economy and people's livelihoods and important issues of the country, worthy of being the leading strategic advisory body for the National Assembly on constitutional, legislative and judicial reform work.
Determined to effectively implement the digital National Assembly model, the National Assembly Chairman requested the Committee to continue to take the lead in digital transformation, advising the National Assembly Standing Committee to direct the construction of a modern legislative information system with full data, applying artificial intelligence (AI) to effectively support the legislative activities of the National Assembly.
At the ceremony, on behalf of Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man awarded the Second-class Independence Medal to the Law and Justice Committee for its outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.
