On March 14, information from the National Assembly Office said that the 2nd session of the 55th Session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place in 1.5 days (starting from March 18 to morning of March 19, 2026).
At this meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation; give opinions on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Representative Agencies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad; and at the same time give opinions on the draft Law on Civil Status (amended); give opinions on the draft Law on the Capital (amended).
During the day, the National Assembly Standing Committee also considered and approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad; considered and approved the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee promulgating the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Regulations.
Also at the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve the Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 1744/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 27, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the List of Members of the National Judge Selection and Supervision Council.
The National Assembly Standing Committee gives opinions on the draft Resolution on coordination mechanisms and specific policies to improve the effectiveness of preventing and resolving international investment disputes.
Notably, if the dossier of the draft Law on Belief and Religion (amended); the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Social Insurance is sent to the National Assembly's agencies as required, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions.
The National Assembly Standing Committee shall consider and give written opinions on the following contents: Government's report on the implementation of national goals on gender equality in 2025; summary report on the activities of the Provincial People's Councils for the term 2021 - 2026.
