Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van becomes Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee after merging with Kon Tum
On the morning of June 30, at the Quang Ngai Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee held a Ceremony to announce Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units.
At the ceremony, Mr. Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, announced the National Assembly Resolution on the establishment of the new Quang Ngai province.
After the arrangement, the new Quang Ngai province (merging Quang Ngai and Kon Tum) has 96 commune-level administrative units, including 86 communes, 9 wards and 1 special zone. After the merger, the new Quang Ngai province has an area of over 14,800km2.
According to the decisions, the Central Government appointed the Executive Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) consisting of 68 people (including 34 people from the old Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and 33 people from the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee; 1 Director of Dak Nong Provincial Police was transferred and appointed as the new Director of Quang Ngai Provincial Police).
The Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) consists of 17 people, including 8 people from the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (old), 8 people from the Standing Committee of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee and 1 Director of Dak Nong Provincial Police were transferred and appointed as the new Director of Quang Ngai Provincial Police.

Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province (old), was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term.
4 people holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term include: Mr. U Huan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang; Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Minh
Mr. U Huan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, holds the position of Head of the XV National Assembly Delegation of the new Quang Ngai Province.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province (old), holds the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province (new), term 2021-2026.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee (old), holds the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province (new), term 2021-2026.
Becoming an important growth pole in the Central - Central Highlands region
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, highly appreciated the efforts of the two provinces of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum in the process of streamlining and reorganizing the apparatus according to the two-level government model.

The merger of the two provinces is part of the development strategy of the region and the whole country to form a new administrative unit of sufficient scale, with strong potential and potential for breakthrough, becoming an important growth pole in the Central - Central Highlands region.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed: "The new Quang Ngai province after the merger will possess unique double advantages, harmoniously combining strategic geographical depth and ecological and economic diversity. From tomorrow, July 1, we need to be determined to put all work under our authority into operation according to the new model, implemented smoothly, without delay or failure; continuously serving people and businesses well."
At the ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, thanked the Central Government for its attention, leadership and direction. She emphasized that the merger of the two provinces is not only an opportunity to expand administrative boundaries but also an opportunity for development, making the new Quang Ngai province increasingly strong in all aspects, and people's lives getting better and better.
"My comrades and I will always thoroughly grasp and determine a new journey, a new public authority thinking is begun. On that new map, not only the boundaries change but the thinking of public authority must also change. The people are in need of cadres who are close, know how to listen, know how to accompany - not with promises but with concrete actions".
