On December 25, in Hanoi, the National Political Publishing House organized a national scientific conference "Applying Ho Chi Minh's thought on publishing work in the current period".
The workshop is a forum for managers, experts, and scientists to exchange, discuss, and clarify Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on publishing, focusing on evaluating the results achieved and the issues raised, thereby proposing solutions to creatively apply Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on publishing to build, innovate, and develop a lean, high-quality, and modern publishing industry in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam - Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House - stated that President Ho Chi Minh was the first communist in Vietnam to clearly recognize and effectively promote the role and importance of publishing, an important tool to serve the revolutionary cause and build a new society, playing a key role in disseminating revolutionary ideology, educating and raising political awareness of the masses.
Throughout his life and career of revolutionary activities for the country and the people, he always determined that publishing was a sharp weapon on the ideological front, contributing significantly to awakening the entire nation that was being oppressed and exploited, leading the people to rise up to make revolution, gain independence and freedom for the nation, build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic, prosperous Vietnam and make a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause.
After nearly 80 years of construction and development, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese revolutionary publishing industry has achieved historical achievements in education, knowledge opening, and ideological enlightenment for the people and is a sharp political and ideological weapon in condemning colonialism and imperialism, propagating Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, encouraging and motivating the entire population to participate in the revolutionary cause, the struggle for national liberation, and the construction and defense of the Fatherland.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop, Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department - emphasized that in the current context, those working in publishing, especially leaders of publishing houses, must first of all thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on publishing, innovate thinking, be dynamic and creative in their activities, meet the reading needs of the people, and effectively serve the cause of national construction and development.
In addition, strengthen the direction, orientation, and perfect the mechanism and policies to promote the development of the publishing industry to better fulfill the mission of preserving and disseminating knowledge and effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
Many enthusiastic opinions, profound lessons, valuable proposals and solutions presented at the workshop are the basis for publishers, printing and book distribution units nationwide, together with ministries, departments, branches and localities to continue improving the efficiency and quality of the publishing industry.
