According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the talks, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the brotherly and close friendship between Vietnam and Angola is a valuable common asset, a solid foundation for the two countries to open a new stage of development.
Appreciating the role and strengths of Vietnam, President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco also suggested that Vietnam support Angola in developing agriculture, especially in rice and fruit crops, contributing to ensuring sustainable food security for Angola.
Emphasizing the priority of promoting bilateral trade exchanges, the President hopes to have more Vietnamese products present in the Angola market and calls on Vietnamese enterprises to invest and produce in Angola.
The President of Angola also suggested that the two countries promote cooperation in the fields of security, defense, mining, gold mining, etc.
Emphasizing that Angola is Vietnam's leading important partner in Africa, President Luong Cuong said that the two countries still have much room to promote cooperation, together building the "scrutinizing cooperation for mutual development" relationship between Vietnam and Angola to become a model for South-South cooperation.
President Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in key areas such as defense and security, promote and diversify cooperation in traditional areas such as cooperation in healthcare, education, and agriculture.
President Luong Cuong suggested that Angola's agencies create conditions and provide incentives for Vietnamese enterprises to soon concretize projects and investment plans in the fields of oil and gas, energy, mineral exploitation and processing, metal processing industry, etc.

The President also suggested that the two sides strengthen trade promotion activities, connect trade, enhance cooperation between the banking systems of the two countries and promote negotiations and signing of foundational economic cooperation documents with the goal of bringing bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion USD in the coming time.
At the end of the talks, President Luong Cuong and President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco issued a Vietnam - Angola Joint Statement, expressing the commitment and determination of both sides in opening a new phase in bilateral cooperation, co-chairing a press conference and witnessing the signing of cooperation documents.
The signed documents include: (i) Agreement on transfer of prisoners between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Angola; (ii) Criminal mutual assistance agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Angola; (iii) Memorandum of Understanding on crime prevention cooperation between the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and the General Directorate of Angola; (iv) Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of Angola; (v) Action Plan on agricultural cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Angola; (vi) Cooperation Agreement between Vietnam Television and National Television; (vii) Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Vietnam Oil and Gas exploration Corporation and Sonang Oil and Gas exploration Company (epis)
Within the framework of the visit, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry and the department of Industry and Trade of Angola signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.
