On March 4, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - received British Minister of Home Affairs Simon Ridley to discuss and promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, immigration and prevention and control of human trafficking.
Also attending was Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security.
According to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, welcoming the National Assembly and the British Ministry of Home Affairs delegation to visit and work with the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his joy at the results of the "3rd Migration and Immigration Dialogue of Vietnam - UK".

The Dialogue mechanism between the two sides is very important to discuss issues of mutual concern, clarify each other's views and positions on newly arising issues and identify cooperation measures to bring the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level, including the field of ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety in each country - Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized, and at the same time suggested that the two sides concretize the achieved results, actively implement the agreed agreements to better meet each other's wishes and needs.
To continue cooperation between the two Ministries in various fields, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the two sides implement signed cooperation documents, especially the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on the prevention and combat of human trafficking, the Memorandum of Understanding on sharing information on entry and exit, the Memorandum of Understanding on migration Issues, and the Joint Statement at the "3rd Vietnam - UK Migration and Exit Dialogue".
Increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially at the professional level, to share work experiences and professional information in the fields of prevention and combat of human trafficking and illegal migration; coordinate the investigation of networks forging political asylum applications and human trafficking victims to make illegal profits and bring law violators to trial.
Expand cooperation in areas where the UK Home Affairs Ministry has strengths such as preventing and combating high-tech crimes, financial crimes, money laundering, making fake passports and papers.
On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the British Ministry of Home Affairs create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to reside, work and study legally in the UK, considering this a measure to prevent illegal migration.

Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for taking the time to meet, Mr. Simon Ridley affirmed: The UK Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to implement the signed agreements, including the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking, the Memorandum of Understanding on Sharing Information on Imigration and Exitment and the Joint Statement at the 3rd Vietnam - UK Migration and Exit Dialogue; and is ready to expand cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in areas where the UK Ministry of Home Affairs has strengths.
