On July 29, at the Government headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Park Chang Dal - Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea working in Vietnam from July 28-30.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung for sending a Special Envoy to Vietnam immediately after taking office, thereby showing the importance of the relationship with Vietnam between President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung and the new Government of the Republic of Korea.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to its relationship with South Korea and hopes that cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop more substantially, effectively, richly and sustainably in the coming time, in line with the interests of the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his satisfaction with the achievements that the two countries have achieved after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, especially after the two countries upgraded their relations to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Vietnam - Korea" in December 2022, political trust between the two countries has been continuously strengthened; the two countries have become mutually important partners in many fields.
The Prime Minister assessed that cooperation between the two countries still has much room for development; suggested that the two sides continue to deepen political relations; promote economic relations, enhance people-to-people exchanges, tourism cooperation; encourage scientific and technological cooperation and digital transformation; and suggested that the Korean side continue to support Vietnam in training high-quality human resources in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence; cloud computing, and management experience.
Special Envoy Park Chang Dal congratulated the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times; expressed confidence that the country and people of Vietnam will successfully achieve the set goals; emphasized that South Korea always considers Vietnam a key partner in implementing foreign policies in the region.
Special Envoy Park Chang Dal hopes to work with Vietnam to further promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming time in all fields of politics, economics, culture, education, science and technology; at the same time, he hopes that Vietnam will continue to create conditions for Korean businesses and citizens living, studying and working in Vietnam.
Regarding international and regional issues, the two sides agreed to continue to cooperate closely in regional and international forums of mutual interest; cooperate to successfully implement the APEC 2025 Summit held in Korea and the APEC 2027 Summit held in Vietnam.
