The 2027 Asia-Pacific Economic Forum (APEC) will be held in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province with the theme "Connecting, building inclusive and self-reliant economies".
To prepare and organize conferences and activities for APEC Year 2027, on July 10, the Prime Minister issued a decision to establish the APEC 2027 National Committee and the Committee's operating regulations chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. The Committee consists of 5 Subcommittees: suddenly, material and logistics, security and health, propaganda and culture, reception.
Since joining APEC in 1998, Vietnam has actively and proactively contributed to the APEC Forum, and is one of the few members who have successfully hosted APEC twice in 2006 and 2017.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that hosting APEC Year 2027 is a great honor and a proud international responsibility of Vietnam; affirmed Vietnam's strong commitment to continue to work with its members to promote multilateralism, solidarity, international cooperation, promote regional economic linkages and the global trade system; and at the same time, demonstrated the trust of APEC economies in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister said that the Asia-Pacific region and the APEC Forum are always important priorities in Vietnam's foreign policy.
The Prime Minister said that, promoting the experiences from previous hosting events and referring to the experiences of other countries, Vietnam will strive and make every effort to organize APEC Year 2027 more successfully than previously hosted twice.
In particular, Vietnam is determined to organize the APEC Year 2027 towards success in both multilateral and bilateral aspects; both regional and international aspects; contributing to concretizing APEC's action programs and vision, further promoting the role of APEC - the locomotive for regional and global growth and economic linkage.
At the same time, it affirms Vietnam's position and stature in the international arena and strengthens bilateral relations between Vietnam and member economies and partners.
According to the Prime Minister, Vietnam will strive to make activities achieve comprehensive success in all aspects of politics, economy, culture, and society, bringing practical benefits to people and the business community; at the same time, successfully organizing APEC in all aspects, from content to organization, reception, logistics; ensuring events take place effectively and on schedule.
Noting that Vietnam is currently expanding Phu Quoc International Airport, building a new conference center and upgrading electricity and water infrastructure, connecting transport routes, accommodation facilities, etc., both serving the APEC Summit Week and creating momentum for long-term development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that with the spirit of consensus, determination and drastic action of Vietnam, the support of member economies and the APEC Secretariat, the 2027 APEC Year will be a resounding success, contributing to peace, cooperation, development and prosperity in the Asia - Pacific and the world.
