Vietnam welcomes Cambodia and Thailand to sign a peace document

Vietnam believes that the peace document between Cambodia and Thailand will create a foundation to strengthen trust and towards a long-term peaceful solution.

On October 26, answering a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's reaction to the signing of a peace document between Cambodia and Thailand on the occasion of attending the 47th ASEAN Summit and related Summits held in Malaysia, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang stated:

As neighbors of Cambodia and Thailand and an ASEAN member, Vietnam pays attention to and welcomes Cambodia and Thailand to sign a peace document on October 26, 2025. This is an important and positive step forward, demonstrating the commitment of the two countries to peace, cooperation and development, in line with the ASEAN Charter and the ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (TAC)".

"We welcome the efforts of countries, including Malaysia, ASEAN Chair 2025 and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the US and President Donald Trump, and stakeholders in the process of finding a peaceful solution to the problem.

Vietnam believes that the peace document will create a foundation to strengthen trust and move towards a long-term peaceful solution. Vietnam continues to actively participate in ASEAN's joint efforts to support Cambodia and Thailand in fully and effectively implementing this document".
