VNA reported that in the early morning of October 26 (local time), the plane carrying Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation arrived in Kuala Lumpur, starting a working trip to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 25 to 28, 2025 at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Malaysia were Malaysian Minister of Education Fadhlina sidek; Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato' Tan Yang Thai; Director of the Department of ceremony, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia; Representative of the Prime Minister's Office and Reps to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh; officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of Vietnamese people in Malaysia.
It is expected that during the 3 days in Kuala Lumpur, the Prime Minister will attend and speak at meetings within the framework of the 47th ASEAN Summit; attend the ASEAN Award Ceremony and the signing Ceremony of the Declaration on the Accession of Timor-Leste to ASEAN; attend ASEAN Summits with partners of the US, China, India, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the United Nations.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will co-chair the 13th Mekong - Japan Summit; attend the following conferences: 3rd Asia Community leaders' Summit on net zero emissions, ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, 3rd ASEAN Summit, 19th East Asia Summit (EAS), 5th RCEP Summit...
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations attending the Conference and many other important activities.
At the 47th ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of countries will evaluate the results of ASEAN cooperation in 2025 under the theme "Inclusive and sustainable", with a vision to building the ASEAN Community in the coming time.
On this occasion, leaders of countries will sign a Declaration of admission of Timor-Leste to ASEAN.
At the ASEAN Summits with partners, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of ASEAN countries and partners will review and orient the promotion of ASEAN- partner relations, especially enhancing cooperation in areas of current interest such as trade, investment, market diversification, supply chain, science - technology, innovation, climate change response, epidemics, natural disasters and discussing international and regional situations.
Through the conferences, Vietnam affirmed its active participation and responsibility for the common success of the conferences; maintaining solidarity and consensus within ASEAN; contributing to common work, especially maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the region; diversifying relations and markets, enhancing ASEAN connectivity, and being ready to consider supporting and promoting the effective implementation of initiatives of countries and partners in accordance with the interests of Vietnam and the interests of ASEAN and peace, security and development in the region and the world.
