Vietnam aims to end tax negotiations with the US as soon as possible with the best results

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that Vietnam is actively negotiating taxes with the US in a way that benefits both sides.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on the morning of May 30, 2025, Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung attended and delivered an important speech at the 30th Asia Future Conference in Tokyo, Japan.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Asia continues to maintain its role as a region of dynamic and stable growth, a pillar of the global economy; a civilized cradle of humanity, increasingly becoming a convergence point of a dynamic industrial - production network; an area of peace and stability.

In order for Asia to make a breakthrough and become the main driving force for global economic growth, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized 5 proposals that countries need to coordinate to promote in the coming time.

First, pioneering in "nhone" multilateral cooperation mechanisms, consolidating the free trade system on the principle of " ginning together".

Second, pioneering in promoting the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Third, pioneering in promoting inclusive development, taking people as the center, goal, subject and driving force of all policies.

Fourth, pioneering in creating new economic models, especially green transformation and digital transformation.

Fifth, pioneering in strengthening solidarity, cooperation and mutual respect.

The Deputy Prime Minister called on countries to join hands to continue writing the miraculous story of Asia, " joining hands", joining hands, being unanimous, overcoming challenges, for peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the whole world.

In the discussion and answering questions about the impact of US tariff policies, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of economic, trade and investment relations with the US, assessing export impacts, attracting foreign investment and macroeconomic administration; emphasizing the motto of calm, proactive, flexible, actively negotiating trade with the US in a way that is beneficial for both parties; Affirming Vietnam is aiming to end negotiations as soon as possible with the best results.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that this is also an opportunity to create momentum for economic restructuring, enhancing self-reliance, self-reliance, diversifying markets, and expanding domestic consumption.

Regarding the content of the new era, the Deputy Prime Minister shared that this is the era of accelerating development, building a rich, prosperous, democratic, fair, civilized country, where all people enjoy development results.

To realize this vision, Vietnam has issued revolutionary and historic decisions in recent times. That is streamlining the apparatus, developing breakthroughs in science and technology, developing the private economy, reforming institutions from management to creating development, pre-inspection to post-inspection, promoting extensive international integration as a fulcrum and lever for development.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam aims to become a center of the semiconductor industry. The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam's development aspirations will open up new opportunities for investment cooperation, calling on foreign investors and enterprises, including Japan, to continue expanding investment and business in Vietnam.
