On the afternoon of October 29, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Ms. Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, Permanent Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, member of the Politburo of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) on the occasion of her official visit to Vietnam.
According to VOV, at the reception, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always respects and is grateful for the solidarity and support that the Venezuelan people have given Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense. The General Secretary highly appreciated the important achievements that Venezuela has made in recent times, the role and position of the PSUV and the ruling coalition in Venezuela.
General Secretary To Lam agreed with the cooperation proposals of Ms. Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, expressed his hope for new developments after the visit, and suggested that the two sides strengthen political trust through exchanges and meetings at all levels, especially at high levels, and enhance cooperation between the two parties, especially in exchanging experiences and theories and supporting each other in party building in the coming time.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides promote the implementation of cooperation plans, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs, continue to support and cooperate at multilateral forums and organizations and on regional and international issues of mutual concern, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development of the two regions and the world.
Permanent Vice President Delcy Rodriguez Gomez highly appreciated the heroic Communist Party of Vietnam for successfully leading the Vietnamese people in the cause of resistance and national construction; shared that the Venezuelan people always admire President Ho Chi Minh, the will for independence and the spirit of innovation of the Communist Party and the Vietnamese people, affirming that President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam are a great source of encouragement and motivation for the people and PSUV.
At the meeting, Ms. Delcy Rodriguez Gomez discussed the achievements that PSUV and the Venezuelan people have achieved in recent times, in the context of facing many difficulties and challenges.
Regarding the relationship between the two parties and the two countries, Ms. Delcy Rodriguez Gomez expressed her joy at the positive developments in the relationship between the two parties in recent times, and wished to have a plan and roadmap to promote the relationship, take advantage of potential areas such as energy, agriculture and tourism, and at the same time strengthen and consolidate the relationship between the two parties in the coming time.
On this occasion, the Permanent Vice President of Venezuela expressed his wish to welcome General Secretary To Lam to visit Venezuela; General Secretary To Lam thanked the invitation and assigned the agencies of both sides to arrange and convey his warm regards and invitation to the President of the PSUV, President Nicolas Maduro, to visit Vietnam again.
