At noon on June 1, in Manila, immediately after the talks, General Secretary and President To Lam and Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents between ministries and sectors of the two countries and met with the press to announce the results of the talks.
The documents include: Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of the Philippines; Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology of the Philippines on cooperation in the field of information technology and digital transformation; Tourism cooperation program 2026-2029 between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Tourism of the Philippines; Memorandum of Understanding between the Academy of Public Administration and Management (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Vietnam) and the University of the Philippines.
At the press conference, Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. expressed his honor and pleasure to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam to pay a state visit to the Philippines, which is proof of the long-standing friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries. This is even more meaningful when the two countries mark the milestone of upgrading relations to a Strengthened Strategic Partnership.
The Philippine President said that on June 1, the two sides had successful and comprehensive talks, reflecting a common vision, long-term prosperity, and firm commitment to regional stability. This will certainly promote bilateral relations to a new height.
