On January 27, in Hanoi, authorized by the Party Central Committee, Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Tam; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Phan Xuan Thuy; Deputy Chief of the Party Central Office Vo Thanh Hung co-chaired a press conference on the results of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam to foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam.
At the announcement ceremony, Politburo member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that the Congress had completed the entire content and program set out, approved important documents and elected the 14th Central Executive Committee consisting of 200 comrades, including 180 official members and 20 alternate members. The Central Executive Committee elected the Politburo consisting of 19 members.
Regarding foreign policy, Politburo member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that the Congress affirmed to continue to firmly adhere to the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness, and actively integrate comprehensively, deeply and effectively into the international community; closely combine Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's foreign affairs, police and defense foreign affairs; actively and responsibly contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and in the world. Vietnam attaches importance to the support and cooperation of international friends and affirms that it will continue to be an active and responsible member of the international community.
At the event, many Ambassadors and Heads of diplomatic missions shared and evaluated Vietnam's development achievements in the past time and sent wishes and expectations for Vietnam's development orientations in the coming time.
Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Rajpal Singh shared his impression with General Secretary To Lam's statements on the development vision to 2045. He said that this is an opportunity for Singaporean businesses to expand cooperation with Vietnam to jointly aim for ambitious goals; Vietnam's foreign policy will continue to play a very important role, especially in the current context of many difficulties and challenges.
United Nations Resident Coordinator in Vietnam - Ms. Pauline Tamesis - said that members of the diplomatic delegation had the opportunity to attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the Congress, considering this a great honor; shared that the United Nations is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to jointly shape the future, as well as coordinate in responding to non-traditional security challenges.
The Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Thomas Gass - congratulated Vietnam on the success of the Congress and expressed his desire to continue to cooperate closely with Vietnam in the coming time. He highly appreciated Vietnam's commitments to peace and Vietnam's increasingly active role in the international community.
The Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou - assessed the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam as an event of historical significance for Vietnam, opening up directions for the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals in the coming time, while promoting Vietnam's international integration process; believing that Vietnam will succeed with the support of partners and long-time friends.
