Vietnam - China promote elevating scientific and technological cohesion

On June 30, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam Ha Vi.

In a friendly, sincere and open atmosphere, the two sides expressed their pleasure at the positive development momentum of Vietnam-China relations, especially the success of the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam in April 2026, which created an important milestone and strategic orientation for the development of the two Parties and two countries right at the beginning of the new development stage of each country.

Party-channel cooperation mechanisms are increasingly perfected and promote the strategic orientation role, promoting the development of bilateral relations. Infrastructure connection, railway transport, economic - trade - investment cooperation are strongly promoted; people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation are increasingly vibrant; coordination at multilateral mechanisms continues to be strengthened.

Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri highly appreciated the positive contributions of Ambassador Ha Vi and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam in promoting relations between the two Parties and two countries in the past time.

Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission proposed that the two sides continue to further consolidate strategic trust between the two Parties and the two countries, coordinate to well implement the important common perceptions of the highest leaders of the two Parties and the two countries and bilateral foreign affairs programs; well implement existing cooperation mechanisms, strengthen theoretical exchange, share experiences in national governance, socio-economic development; promote ministries, branches, and localities to actively cooperate, bring high-level common perceptions between the two countries into life, promote deep economic connectivity, especially connecting transport and railway infrastructure; expand trade cooperation and development towards balance and sustainability; elevate linkages in science and technology, especially in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, 5G, 6G, training high-quality human resources; well implement people-to-people exchange programs, "red journey" for the young generation, Vietnam - China tourism cooperation year 2026-2027, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

Agreeing with the opinion of Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri, Ambassador Ha Vi affirmed that he will continue to strive for the development of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries, promote the role of an important bridge, promote cooperation, exchange and experience sharing between the advisory bodies of the two Parties and the two countries, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two sides to develop in accordance with the orientations of the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two countries that have been achieved, opening a new stage of development of China-Vietnam relations.
