On August 27, the Government issued Resolution No. 255/NQ-CP on the construction of urgent works for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport).
The Resolution clearly states that the People's Committee of Dong Nai City shall deploy the construction of urgent works for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh airport (the project) according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 70 of the 2025 Construction Law.
The Government assigned the People's Committee of Dong Nai City to be responsible for directing the implementation of the project in accordance with the provisions of law on construction, law on investment in the form of public-private partnership and relevant legal regulations, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, publicity, transparency, and not allowing violations to occur.
At the same time, implementing compensation and site clearance work, ensuring harmony of interests of people, businesses, organizations and related entities; not allowing violations, inadequacies, complaints, and the emergence of complex hotspots on security and order; closely and promptly coordinate with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security to effectively implement all aspects of security and order work.
Review, inspect, and evaluate publicly, transparently, and objectively in the selection of investors, ensuring capacity, meeting requirements for progress, quality, and efficiency for the project, synchronously and interconnected with other metro lines according to the plan; ensuring maximum state benefits, harmonizing business interests, and preventing violations, losses, and waste.
The Government assigns the Ministry of Finance to be responsible for inspecting and supervising the implementation of the Project in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of Construction supports and guides the People's Committee of Dong Nai City and relevant agencies and units in the project implementation process to comply with the provisions of law on construction, ensuring quality and safety.
The project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh airport is about 44.5km long, with a maximum design speed of 120km/h, including 2 sections: section 1, from Suoi Tien station to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center, about 7.1km long; section 2, from the Dong Nai City Administrative Center to Long Thanh Airport, about 36.4km long.
Project to invest in building stations, depots and works on the route.
The extension of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai will create more connectivity options, supplementing other traffic routes, in line with the trend of urban railway development in countries around the world.
