General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission attended and gave a speech at the Commemoration Ceremony. Also attending was Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
According to VNA, speaking at the Commemoration Ceremony, General Secretary To Lam stated that over 80 years of building, fighting, winning and growing, the armed forces of Military Region 9 have always clearly demonstrated the good nature and glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam warmly congratulated the great feats, achievements, and growth of the Vietnam Military Region 9 Youth Union; congratulated the 9th Military Region on receiving the title of Heroic unit of the People's Army - a noble award award award award award presented by the Party and State.

Military Region 9 continues to effectively carry out the defense foreign tasks with the Royal Army and the Kingdom of Cambodia; coordinate with the forces of the Ministry of National Defense in defense foreign affairs, especially with ASEAN countries; grasp the relevant situation, proactively advise strategy, resolutely and skillfully handle border and island issues; fight to defeat all plots and tricks of sabotage, causing division in relations between Vietnam and Cambodia and ASEAN countries.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Central Military Commission, General Secretary To Lam and Secretary of the Central Military Commission awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Armed Forces of Military Region 9, recognizing the great contributions of the Armed Forces of the Military Region to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State, and people.
