Announcing the confirmation of the status of 500 National Assembly deputies soon
On the morning of March 26, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting on preparations for the first session of the 16th National Assembly.
Speaking at the beginning of the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated clearly that the first session of the 16th National Assembly is of particular importance, following the success of the 14th National Party Congress; the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the success of the 2nd Conference of the 14th Central Committee.
This session will consider consolidating personnel for state titles, including: President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Assembly, Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Government, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, People's Council, and Committees of the National Assembly.
According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, in localities, provinces and cities are actively preparing to organize the first session of the Provincial People's Council, striving to complete it before May 31, 2026. Some localities will organize it after the first session of the National Assembly because it is still related to personnel work associated with the Central Government.
The National Election Council has announced the list of 500 National Assembly deputies elected, and is expected to officially announce the confirmation of the status of 500 National Assembly deputies by tomorrow (March 27).
The National Assembly Chairwoman stated clearly that after the election, central and local agencies have reviewed all related petitions, ensuring compliance with regulations before announcing official results.
Up to now, the coordination between relevant agencies has been basically completed, meeting the conditions to confirm the qualifications of 500 National Assembly deputies. The National Assembly Office and the Delegate Affairs Committee are continuing to complete the necessary procedures, ensuring the overall progress of the session" - the National Assembly Chairman said.

Considering and deciding on organizational and personnel work
According to the plan, there are only about 10 days left until the preparatory session takes place, before the official session opens; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that during this time, agencies will continue to comprehensively review the completed and ongoing work and the remaining problems, in order to promptly report and seek opinions from the National Assembly leaders and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
In case the basic preparation work meets the requirements, subsequent meetings will be held to continue to improve, ensuring that the first session of the 16th National Assembly takes place on schedule, with quality and efficiency.
Reporting at the meeting, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh said that in the first session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on: organizational structure and personnel; 09 draft laws and legal normative resolutions; 05 groups of contents on socio-economics, finance, budget, supervision and other important issues; there are 09 groups of contents to submit reports for National Assembly deputies to study.
The total working time of the National Assembly is expected to be 11 days, opening on the morning of April 6, 2026, closing on April 24, 2026.
