The Ministry of National Defense on January 13 organized a summary of judicial work, inspection, legal affairs, audit and 1389 work on crime prevention and combat, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the field of national defense in 2025; deploying tasks for 2026.
In 2025, the work of fighting and preventing violations and crimes on border, sea and island routes was carried out regularly and effectively by functional forces.
In which, the Border Guard force presided over and coordinated to successfully fight 105 projects, arrested more than 7,600 cases with nearly 12,000 subjects; prosecuted 592 cases with 796 subjects; the total amount of administrative fines and the value of goods temporarily seized was more than 353 billion VND.
The Vietnam Coast Guard force discovered, arrested, and handled 1,545 cases with more than 2,100 subjects; effectively implemented propaganda and prevention of violations of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of Steering Committee 1389 of the Ministry of National Defense - praised the results achieved by agencies and units throughout the army in the past time;
At the same time, requesting agencies and units in the coming time to create a breakthrough in the work of building and perfecting legal institutions, mechanisms, and policies on military, national defense, and basic affairs.
Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong also requested agencies and units to proactively grasp and firmly manage the situation of violations and crimes related to the army. Clearly identify the causes, conditions and closely forecast the situation, promptly and effectively advise Party committees and commanders at all levels to do a good job of fighting and preventing violations and crimes.
Continue to effectively implement projects, regulations, plans on legal affairs, inspection, justice, dissemination, legal education and 1389 work.
Notably, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong also requested agencies and units to focus on comprehensively deploying inspection, examination, and audit activities to detect, rectify, and promptly handle violations.
In which, focusing on inspection, examination, and audit of key programs and projects investing in procurement of materials, weapons and equipment using large budgets, areas prone to negativity.
Border Guard and Coast Guard of Vietnam promote patrol, inspection, control, handling of law violations, fighting against crime, combating smuggling, trade fraud, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit and combating IUU exploitation.
Promote international cooperation in the fields of legal affairs, inspection, justice and 1389 work; effectively implement coordination between legal affairs, inspection, justice, auditing agencies and Steering Committee 1389 at all levels in the Army with agencies, units and functional forces of ministries, branches, and localities.
