In response to the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), on July 21, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) Ngo Hoang Ngan and leaders of the Group, the Production Management Center (DHSX) in Quang Ninh organized working groups to conduct field inspections of storm prevention and response work at units in Ha Long, Cam Pha and the Western Region (Quang Ninh).
In Cam Pha area, Chairman of Ngo Hoang Ngan Group, together with Deputy General Director of the Group and Director of the Center for Environmental Protection in Quang Ninh Nguyen Huy Nam directly inspected the work of preventing and responding to storm No. 3 at Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company and a number of open-pit mines and underpasses.
Meanwhile, in the Western region, members of the Board of Directors of Vu Thanh Lam Group and Deputy General Director of Phan Xuan Thuy Group inspected the response to storm No. 3 at the units: Dong Trieu Thermal Power Company, Uong Bi Coal Company, Mao Khe, Nam Mau.
In Ha Long area, Deputy General Director of the Group Nguyen Van Tuan and the Group's specialized departments inspected the storm prevention and response work at Ha Tu Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Lam.
Inspecting the Cua Ong Main Port area, Chairman of Ngo Hoang Ngan Group acknowledged the readiness and proactiveness in storm prevention work No. 3 of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company and Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company, ensuring compliance with the direction of the Government, the National Steering Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ministries, localities and TKV.

Assessing that this is a storm that will cause heavy rain, the Group Chairman requested units to prepare on-site storm forces, reinforce, brace and securely tie equipment and vehicles in the port area, coal warehouses, factories, etc., ensuring safety for equipment and production areas.
Inspecting the construction of Dam No. 4 Khe De managed and operated by Deo Nai - Coconut Sau Joint Stock Company, ensuring drainage capacity of the mine's exploitation area, Chairman of Ngo Hoang Ngan Group directed the unit to strengthen control of the drainage capacity of the project in the conditions of storm No. 3 with heavy rain and increased water volume; ensuring safety for the exploitation site and the waste dump area.
Working with units in Cam Pha region, Chairman of Ngo Hoang Ngan Group requested units to focus highly on the response to storm No. 3, not to be negligent or subjective; review and inspect key locations at high risk of being affected when the storm makes landfall; inspect storm prevention works, dams blocking the foot of waste dumps, ditches, drainage streams; water pumping system for drainage ditches and mines, backup generators to meet the pumping and drainage work and maintain production; safely anchoring water transport vehicles; reinforcing factories and equipment, especially in the port area.
Units strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 602/CD-BCH on focusing on responding to storm No. 3 of TKV; closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle incidents and evacuate people and property when necessary; maintain smooth communication, strictly implement the reporting regime; Request units to have the fastest response and handling plan when incidents occur with the goal of ensuring human safety as the top priority task and ensuring the safety of assets and equipment.
