Creative labor - BSR's foundation for sustainable development
In the context of the global energy market fluctuating, crude oil prices and refining profit margins have decreased sharply, input costs have increased, the company has maintained effective production and business activities, ensuring the operation of Dung Quat Oil Refinery at a high capacity, absolute safety, exceeding the targets on output, revenue and state budget obligations.
In parallel with the efforts of enterprises, the BSR Trade Union organization must also adapt quickly, promote the role of "connecting" between workers and professionals, proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members, encourage the spirit, arouse the desire to contribute and be creative in all staff and workers. According to Ms. Truong Thi Thu Ha - Vice President of BSR Trade Union, in all circumstances, the Trade Union always accompanies workers, creating a favorable environment for each individual to promote their intelligence and initiatives, contributing to improving productivity, quality and production and business efficiency of the company.
The spirit of innovation, creativity and proactiveness in scientific research and technical improvement have become an important foundation to help BSR's employees constantly improve their professional qualifications, management skills and the ability to adapt to the digital transformation trend of the petrochemical and refining industry.
In the period of 2023 - 2025, the whole company has recorded 4,183 innovation ideas registered on the D- Office system, of which 1,592 technical initiatives were recognized, bringing a profit value of nearly 847 billion VND. Many outstanding initiatives of BSR employees have won high prizes at competitions and awards at the corporation, provincial and national levels: 13 corporation-level initiatives (01 special type, 07 type A, 05 type B); 18 awards at the Quang Ngai Provincial Technical Innovation Competition; 04 awards at the National Technical Innovation Competition and 03 Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards (VIFOTEC).
In particular, many outstanding individuals of BSR were honored at the 2025 National Creative Labor Festival, affirming the pioneering role of BSR workers in the innovation movement, making practical contributions to the goal of saving energy, reducing emissions and sustainable development of the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry.
All for workers, building a safe and cohesive working environment
Along with the creative labor movement, BSR Trade Union continues to affirm its role as an organization representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the coordination between the Trade Union and the Company's Board of Directors was carried out closely and effectively, clearly demonstrated in the development and adjustment of human resource policies, wages, benefits and working conditions.
Many practical social security policies are recommended and implemented by the Union such as: purchasing health insurance for relatives, supporting occupational diseases, voluntary pension insurance, maternity benefits... helping workers have more solid support and feel secure in sticking with businesses.
The implementation of grassroots democracy regulations has received special attention from the Trade Union through Workers' conferences, periodic dialogues, and trade union vocational training classes. In the period of 2023 - 2025, thousands of workers attended the conference, more than 300 union officials were trained in skills in organizing activities, dialogue skills and implementing democratic regulations, contributing to building a democratic, public and transparent working environment.
The negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements are maintained regularly, with many provisions that are more beneficial to employees than current legal regulations, especially in the contents of working hours, rest regime, rights for female workers and welfare policies.
At the same time, the Trade Union also focuses on legal advice and legal support, with more than 15 sessions of propaganda and dissemination of labor laws organized; at the same time, promptly receiving and handling feedback and recommendations from workers through many different channels such as the Trade Union office, internal network system, Yammer and email.
In addition, occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) work continues to be implemented synchronously, methodically and effectively. The Trade Union coordinated with the professional organization to organize many training programs, identify risks, emulation movements "Creative Space", "operating Station - Green - Clean - Beautiful Workplace", contributing to building a safe and modern working environment.
Thanks to the close coordination between experts and the Trade Union, BSR has maintained more than 53 million continuous safe working hours, without any work accidents that caused loss of working day - an outstanding achievement in the entire Oil and Gas industry. The Safety and Hygiene Network operates effectively, playing a core role in propaganda, supervision and implementation of occupational safety and health at units.
BSR Trade Union also actively participates in occupational safety and health competitions to improve the skills and sense of responsibility of workers. At the 10th Oil and Gas Industry Excellent Safety and Hygiene Competition in 2024, BSR excellently won the second prize for the whole team, and won the first prize in the specialized fire prevention and fighting practice competition and the first prize in the first prize in the first aid competition for victims. At the internal level, the 2nd BSR Excellent Safety and Hygiene Competition in 2024 attracted more than 200 contestants from 24 departmental trade unions to participate, spreading a safety culture and competitive spirit throughout the Company.
In particular, in the period of 2023 - 2025, BSR organized 130 occupational safety and health training courses with a total of 29,133 participants, affirming that safety culture has become an indispensable part of the awareness and actions of each BSR employee.
With the motto "Workers are the center - Trade unions are a solid support", BSR Trade Union continues to accompany businesses on the journey of sustainable development, promoting the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and responsibility of workers, contributing to building BSR to grow stronger, worthy of being the leading flag in the Vietnamese petrochemical and refining industry.
