According to the State Bank's report, cashless transactions in Vietnam have grown strongly in recent years, with more than 90% of bank transactions conducted via digital channels and the rate of adults owning bank accounts exceeding 87%. In that context, the effective operation of the Core Card system becomes a vital factor to help the bank meet modern customer needs and maintain competitiveness.

Eximbank deploys new Core Card: Accelerating digital transformation and international integration

Responding to the trend of comprehensive digital transformation, on May 23, 2025, Eximbank officially deployed the new Core Card system (New CMS) on the Way4 platform of OpenWay - the world's leading Core Card solution provider based in Belgium. This system inherits existing functions and adds many outstanding improvements, including support for diverse cards such as debit, credit, prepaid, virtual and co-branded cards. The card issuance process is completely automated from the proposal stage to approval and issuance of cards, shortening processing time and minimizing manual errors.

Choosing Way4, Core Card platform trusted by many major banks in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia also helps Eximbank integrate more deeply with international standards, improve security and the ability to expand services in the future.

Outstanding utilities and practical benefits for customers

The new Core Card system allows customers to use self-service services such as locking/unlocking cards, reissuing PINs, and spending management via Eximbank EDigi and Ebiz digital banking applications. The security system is upgraded with EMV, PCI DSS and 3D secure standards, announcing card transactions via OTT in real time, contributing to minimizing fraud risks and maximum protection of user rights. In addition, personalized points accumulation, refund and promotion programs are designed to automate, helping customers receive real value from their cards.

In addition, Eximbank has developed new digital card products such as Virtual Card virtual card, flexible installment service on card balance and cash transactions, and the ability to issue cards online quickly, contributing to diversification of choices and convenient for users.
