A year ago, the life of Nong Ngoc Son (27 years old, Yen Thang commune, Luc Yen district) was full of difficulties and struggles.
"Coming from a farming family, I understand the hardships of having to rely mainly on rice and corn for income. The meager income often causes the family to go hungry during the lean season. Even my salary at that time was just enough to take care of myself, let alone support my family," Son shared.

I decided to try my luck and was accepted as a worker at the company. Since working at the mine, my life has gradually changed. With a monthly salary of 9 million VND, my family spends frugally and buys more livestock to develop the economy. By 2023, my family has officially escaped poverty."

Walking on the newly built concrete road, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (62 years old, Vinh Lac, Luc Yen) could not hide her joy.
"Previously, the road was muddy, making it extremely difficult to transport agricultural products. Now, the road is spacious, trucks can reach the house, cinnamon is easier to buy, and family life has also improved significantly," said Ms. Hoa.
Along with that, in 2024, the company supported the construction of a concrete road longer than 400m, installed power lines along the route in Vinh Lac commune with a total cost of more than 800 million VND, contributing to the construction of new rural areas of the commune.
At the same time, coordinate with Yen Thang Commune People's Committee to build a 1,200m long concrete road with a total cost of more than 3 billion VND, support the installation of electricity according to the program "lighting up the countryside roads" of Lang Thoc village.
Along with social activities, the company has also achieved important progress in the field of mineral exploitation.
In March 2024, according to the decision of the National Mineral Reserves Assessment Council, the company was recognized for marble reserves in Ban Nghe area, Yen Thang commune, Luc Yen district with an area of 12.4 hectares.
Of which, the recognized marble reserves are up to 2,205,000 m3 of white and gray-white marble with block sizes from 0.1 m3 to < 0.4 m3. In addition, the reserve of gray-white marble used to make calcium carbonate powder is 1,595,000 m3, and stone used as common construction materials to fully recover mineral resources, no more waste stone, avoiding waste of resources and environmental pollution.
Use resources economically and rationally
Implementing the Resolution dated February 24, 2021 of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee on industrial development in a sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly direction, the Provincial People's Committee has issued many documents directing the implementation of mineral management, exploitation and use in the area.
Along with that, synchronously deploy solutions from planning exploration, exploitation, use to granting mineral exploitation licenses under the province's authority.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Director of Hung Dai Son Construction, Production and Trade Services Company Limited Nguyen Van Hung said that recently, the company has strictly complied with regulations on exploitation.
"At the same time, investing in innovation in technology and machinery for mining and processing minerals to increase the value and quality of products, bring economic efficiency, meet the market's demand for raw materials; fulfill financial obligations such as taxes, environmental protection fees, and pay and submit to the state budget in 2024 is nearly 17 billion VND. From there, it helps promote local economic development, create jobs for more than 200 local workers, and improve the quality of life for people", said Mr. Nguyen Van Hung.
According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province Vu Vinh Quang, currently, enterprises need to promote production expansion based on the application of modern machinery and technology, producing to the final product to increase added value, save and improve the efficiency of resource use.
"In particular, mineral exploitation and blasting service enterprises must strictly comply with mining and construction designs; are only allowed to use industrial explosives at licensed locations; apply advanced blasting measures, and use industrial explosives that cause little noise and dust so as not to affect the environment," informed the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province.
