HDBank surpasses the 1 million billion VND asset mark, ROE 25.4% in the highest group

At the end of Q2/2026, HDBank recorded pre-tax profit of VND 7,095 billion, accumulated profit for 6 months increased by VND 13,202 billion, up 31% compared to the same period last year.

Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank - HoSE: HDB) announced its business results for the first 6 months of 2026 with three outstanding milestones: Joining the group of banks with assets of over 1 million billion VND; pre-tax profit exceeding 13,200 billion VND with ROE reaching 25.4%, belonging to the highest group in the whole industry; and at the same time continuing to affirm its position in the international capital market through the social loan loan worth 721 million USD and for the first time being rated BB- credit rating by Fitch Ratings, belonging to the highest group for Vietnamese banks.

Total assets reached 1,045 million billion VND, an increase of 12.3% compared to the beginning of the year, officially bringing HDBank into the group of banks with assets of over one million billion VND in Vietnam.

Profitability continues to be in the leading group

HDBank continues to maintain outstanding operating efficiency with ROE reaching 25.4% and ROA reaching 2.17%, ranking in the highest group in the banking system.

Not only outstanding in 2026, HDBank also maintained its leading profitability for many consecutive years. In the 2022-2025 period, the average ROE reached about 25%, ranking in the highest group among leading private joint-stock commercial banks. The compound annualized earnings growth rate (CAGR) in the 2021-2025 period reached about 27.5%/year, reflecting a solid and sustainable growth foundation.

Total operating income reached 22,684 billion VND, an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period. In which, non-interest income increased by 23.1%, continuing to affirm the effectiveness of the strategy of diversifying revenue sources.

The cost-to-income ratio (CIR) decreased to 24.9%, ranking among the lowest among private banks, reflecting the effectiveness of the digital transformation strategy, operation automation and productivity improvement.

Currently, more than 94% of individual customer transactions are carried out on digital platforms and digital channels contribute over 60% of new customers, creating a foundation for effective long-term growth.

Joining the billion-dollar bank group, promoting the strength of the ecosystem

As of June 30, 2026, HDBank's total assets reached VND 1,045 million billion, an increase of 12.3% compared to the beginning of the year.

Credit balance reached 698,355 billion VND, an increase of 18.76%, focusing on priority sectors of the economy such as production and business, small and medium-sized enterprises, agriculture, infrastructure, supply chains and essential consumption.

Capital mobilization reached 932,437 billion VND, an increase of 12.1%, of which deposits from economic organizations and residents increased by over 20%.

HDBank's growth momentum comes from the financial - digital banking - securities - insurance - fund management - consumer finance ecosystem along with the fields of aviation, real estate, infrastructure, technology and education.

The ecosystem currently serves over 34 million customers in the financial sector and has the ability to reach over 20 million customers from strategic partners, creating a great advantage in customer development, cross-product exploitation and expanding sustainable revenue sources.

Member units continue to record positive growth results:

- HD SAISON achieved pre-tax profit of over 804 billion VND, ROE reached 22.3%, continuing to be in the leading group in the consumer finance market, serving more than 17.5 million customers through 28,600 points of sale nationwide.

- HD Securities (HDS) achieved pre-tax profit of 1,470 billion VND, up 286%, ranking in the Top 10 securities companies with the highest profits in Vietnam, with ROE above 28% - belonging to the leading group in the whole industry.

- Vikki Digital Bank continues to grow strongly after more than a year of transformation, with more than 1.6 million application downloads in just the first 6 months of the year, raising the total number of users to over 3.5 million. Vikki Bank application continuously ranks in the group of digital banks rated highest by users with 4.7/5 points, while the scale of deposits on both digital channels and physical networks has grown significantly compared to the same period last year.

Affirming international position and pioneering sustainable development

Along with business growth, HDBank continues to maintain its capital base and safety indicators belonging to the leading group in the system.

The capital adequacy ratio (CAR) according to Basel II reached over 14%, much higher than the minimum level according to regulations. The loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) is only 72%, while liquidity indicators according to Basel III standards such as LCR and NSFR are both over 100%, reflecting solid capital capacity and liquidity.

Also in Q2/2026, Moody's Ratings raised HDBank's rating outlook from "Stable" to "Positive". At the same time, Fitch Ratings for the first time rated HDBank's credit rating at BB-, in the highest group of Vietnamese banks.

HDBank has just successfully mobilized 721 million USD of international syndicated loans according to Social Loan standards, exceeding about 60% of the initial expected scale. This is the largest social syndicated loan ever mobilized by a Vietnamese organization in the international market, showing the strong belief of global financial institutions in HDBank's management capacity, development prospects and sustainable financial strategy.

In addition, the bank is continuing to implement a program to issue 500 million USD of international green bonds, affirming its pioneering role in mobilizing capital to serve green growth, social development and sustainable development according to international standards.

Towards overcoming the 2026 plan

With a solid financial foundation, leading operating efficiency, increasing scale, a widespread customer ecosystem and increasingly consolidated international position, HDBank is having many advantages to complete and exceed the business goals for 2026 assigned by the General Meeting of Shareholders, aiming for pre-tax profit of over 30,100 billion VND, an increase of 41% compared to the previous year.

The highlight throughout the first 6 months of 2026 is that HDBank not only grows rapidly in scale, but also maintains top profitability, promotes digital transformation, expands the strength of the ecosystem and elevates its position in the international capital market.
