At the same time, signed a cooperation agreement on sustainable aviation fuel consumption SAF with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet) and Associated Energy Group, LLC (AEG Fuels). This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Petrolimex (12.1.1956 - 12.1.2026).
The event was honored to welcome Mr. Hoang Vuong - Director of the Department of Industry, Government Office; Mr. Uong Viet Dung - Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Ministry of Construction; Mr. Phan Van Chinh - Deputy Director, Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Bui Ngoc Bao - Chairman of the Vietnam Petroleum Association.
On the side of Petrolimex, there were Mr. Pham Van Thanh - Member of the Government Party Executive Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Tran Tuan Linh - Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu - Deputy General Director, Mr. Vo Van Tan - Chairman of Petroleum Company Region II and leaders of the Group's professional departments, the Board of Directors of Control of Area II and Nha Be Petroleum General warehouse.
The event was attended by partners and guests from the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) and Petrolimex Aviation Fuel Joint Stock Company (Petrolimex Aviation) such as Vietjet, AEG Fuels, SGS Vietnam, Keppel Group and IATA Vietnam.
Petrolimex pioneers in processing and supplying SAF in Vietnam
SAF is aviation fuel produced from renewable sources, replacing traditional fossil fuels. SAF is capable of reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional aviation fuel.
Petrolimex is the first unit in Vietnam to import carbonated hydrocarbures synthesized from bio-based/recycled materials ( synthetic blending components - SBC).
Petrolimex is also the first unit in Vietnam to master SAF blending technology from SBC in compliance with strict international standards such as EI 1533, ASTM D7566, DEF STAN 91-091... and Vietnamese Standard - TCVN 14414:2025.
SAF products have been provided by Petrolimex Aviation Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, successfully inspected for domestic commercial flights.
Speaking at the event, Member of the Government Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex Pham Van Thanh said: Petrolimex proactively invests, researchs, and masters SAF blending technology at Nha Be Petroleum General warehouse. Petrolimex is also the first unit in Vietnam to import SBC used to make SAF. This success demonstrates the Group's strong commitment to the green transformation journey, accompanying the Government, airlines and the whole society towards sustainable development".
Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Mr. Uong Viet Dung, highly appreciated the Vietnam National Petroleum Group and Petrolimex Aviation for taking the lead in implementing research, blending and supplying SAF. The leader of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam emphasized:
The launch of SAF products is not only meaningful in commercial terms but also has long-term strategic significance, creating a premise for building a sustainable domestic SAF supply chain; meeting the requirements of the international market; encouraging cooperation between airlines, fuel suppliers, management agencies and financial institutions to expand the scale of SAF use in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoc - General Director of Petrolimex Aviation - shared that the above prestigious international certification is a testament to Petrolimex's capacity and professionalism in implementing SAF. Petrolimex Aviation is ready to accompany domestic and foreign partners towards a green, safe and sustainable aviation industry.
Signing a SAF consumption cooperation agreement with Vietjet and AEG Fuels
At the event, Petrolimex Aviation signed a cooperation agreement to purchase SAF with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet). According to the agreement, Petrolimex Aviation will inspect all 1,200 m3 of SAFs firstly mixed in Vietnam for Vietjet flights, and transfer the Sustainability - Proof of Sustainability (PoS) according to ISCC EU standards. This is an important milestone, affirming the commitment of both sides in reducing carbon emissions and developing a green aviation industry in Vietnam.
Mr. To Viet Thang - Permanent Deputy General Director of Vietjet said: "Today's SAF consumption cooperation agreement between Vietjet and Petrolimex Aviation demonstrates the commitment of the two businesses and the aviation industry towards green and sustainable development goals. With a total of 576 modern aircraft ordered, Vietjet's green flight fleet using SAF will contribute to significantly reducing emissions, protecting the environment, pioneering the use of clean fuel, contributing to realizing the aspiration for development and rising in the era of global integration of the country."
Also within the framework of the event, Petrolimex Aviation signed a cooperation agreement with AEG Fuels - the leading international strategic partner in the field of SAF supply. This cooperation expands Petrolimex Aviation's connecting network to the global market, creating a premise for SAF manufacturing in Vietnam to reach international customers and promote the green transformation of the aviation industry.
