On May 17, 2007, PV Power was officially established, marking an important step in the development of Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam) in completing the energy value chain. Since that day, PV Power has begun the journey of "lighting up the future" with an initial charter capital of 7.6 trillion VND, 486 employees. To date, PV Power has become a public company with a charter capital of more than 23.4 trillion VND, managing and operating 9 power plants with a total installed capacity of nearly 6,000 MW. After nearly two decades of continuous development, the Corporation has gradually expanded its scale, accumulated experience and improved management capacity, ready to adapt to the increasingly rapid changes of the energy industry.

Faced with the rapid changes in the energy industry, PV Power clearly defines its development orientation: improving operational efficiency, ensuring stable power supply, and gradually shifting to cleaner energy sources, in accordance with Power Plan VIII and Vietnam's Net Zero commitment.
Accordingly, PV Power has completed and improved the quality of corporate governance according to international standards, publicly transparent in operation and information disclosure. Promoting investment in new power projects, researching and expanding new fuel sources, clean energy types such as solar power, electricity using LNG gas. This is of great significance when fuel sources such as coal and gas are gradually decreasing, this is also one of the important steps in the process of implementing PV Power's sustainable development strategy.
The most important milestone in PV Power's energy transition journey is the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Projects - the first LNG gas power project in Vietnam. The two plants have a total capacity of more than 1.6 GW with a total investment of about 1.4 billion USD and have officially started commercial operation since the beginning of 2026. Currently, PV Power is continuing to expand the LNG gas power ecosystem with new projects such as Quang Ninh LNG, Quynh Lap LNG,... Notably, the Quynh Lap LNG project has just been awarded an Investment Certificate on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by the President of Korea. The project is expected to start construction in May - on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Corporation's establishment.
19 years - a long enough journey to affirm its position, but also the starting point for a new journey. With the foundation built and the direction shaped, PV Power is continuing to write its development story - not only "generating energy", but also creating a green and sustainable energy future for the country.
