On July 14, 2026, the Prime Minister just issued Decision No. 1279/QD-TTg on supplementing 5,000 billion VND of charter capital for Co-opBank. Following that, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam also signed Decision No. 1634/QD-NHNN Investing in additional state capital to support the increase of charter capital for Co-opBank. The capital source is allocated from the State budget according to the provisions of law, showing the concern and companionship of the Party, Government, and SBV in improving the financial capacity of credit institutions playing the core role of the QTDND system.
Not only is it a solution to strengthen the financial potential for Co-opBank, this policy is also of great significance in ensuring the safety and stability of the cooperative financial system, contributing to promoting collective economic development and effectively implementing policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.

With the role of "Bank of all QTDNDs", Co-opBank operates not for the goal of maximizing profits but towards the goal of system linkage and supporting the operations of QTDNDs through capital regulation, financial support and providing modern banking products and services.
The stable and sustainable development of each QTDND is the foundation for the development of Co-opBank and vice versa. In addition to the core task of taking care of and regulating capital for the QTDND system, Co-opBank also provides full modern banking services such as capital mobilization, credit granting, payment, and digital banking for corporate and individual customers.
The Government's decision to supplement 5,000 billion VND of charter capital will create an important shift for Co-opBank. New financial resources not only help the bank improve capital safety indicators according to regulations but also create conditions to expand credit scale, invest in technology, develop products and services and strengthen the capacity to support the QTDND system in necessary times.
This is also an important preparation for the cooperative financial system to adapt to new development requirements in the context of digital transformation, international integration and the increasing demand for access to capital of the collective economy sector.

Not only meaning to strengthen financial resources for Co-opBank, the Government's decision is also assessed by experts to create a positive spillover effect on the entire QTDND system, contributing to unblocking capital flows, improving the resilience of the collective economic sector and promoting sustainable growth.
In the context that the whole country is determined to implement high growth targets, developing the private economy and the collective economy to become important drivers of the economy, the Government's decision to supplement 5,000 billion VND of charter capital for Co-opBank is meaningful beyond the scope of a simple financial decision.

That is a strong message about the State's companionship with the collective economic sector; it is an affirmation of Co-opBank's role and position in the financial - banking system of Vietnam; and at the same time creates an important foundation to expand credit access, improve the resilience of the cooperative financial system and promote inclusive development.
With new resources and determination to innovate governance, promote digital transformation and improve competitiveness, Co-opBank is expected to continue to promote its role as a bridge for capital flows to the agricultural, rural and collective economy sectors, making positive contributions to the country's rapid and sustainable development goals in the new period.
