In February 2025, with favorable weather for coal and mineral exploitation and production activities, right after the Lunar New Year holiday, the entire Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) entered production and business activities at a high pace. Therefore, TKV basically achieved the plan with the production and business targets set for the month.
The output of raw coal production reached 3.28 million tons, equal to 106% of the plan, consuming 3.92 million tons; of which coal for power delivery is estimated at 3.35 million tons; stripped soil reached 12.63 million m3; tunnel digging reached 21 thousand meters, equal to 102% of the plan.
Converted alumina mineral production reached 121 thousand tons, equal to 102% of the plan, consumption was 126.3 thousand tons, equal to 103% of the plan. Copper concentrate produced 9.4 thousand tons, equal to 127% of the plan, producing 2.44 thousand tons of copper plates, 682 tons of zinc and gold, and 15.7 thousand tons of iron concentrate.
TKV has produced 869 million kWh of electricity, equal to 104% of the plan. In addition, 5.5 thousand tons of explosives were produced, consuming 8 thousand tons; Producing 17 thousand tons of nitrate Amaterine, equal to 108% of the plan, consuming 17.9 thousand tons, equal to 113% of the plan.
The completion of basic targets according to the operating plan has brought TKV's total revenue in February 2025 to about 13.65 trillion VND.
Entering March 2025, with the forecast that the weather will continue to be favorable for coal and mineral exploitation activities, the demand for coal is expected to enter a strong growth cycle because coal output will mobilize at a high level during the dry season for electricity production, to complete the operating targets for the first quarter of 2025, TKV will implement the March production and business plan with a number of key targets.
Of which, it is expected to produce 3.52 million tons of raw coal; consume 4.96 million tons of coal, of which consumption for households is 4.21 million tons; Excavate 14.1 million m3 of rock and soil; 23.1 thousand meters of peach kilns;
Alumina products are expected to reach 131 thousand tons, consuming 142 thousand tons; exploiting 114,000 tons of raw copper ore, 625 tons of zinc and zinc, copper plates will reach 2.7 thousand tons.
The target is to produce 1,020 million kWh of electricity, 7 thousand tons of explosives, supplying 10.1 thousand tons; The production of Amon Nitrates is expected to reach 17 thousand tons, consuming 17.3 thousand tons.
TKV also strives to complete the targets for the first quarter of 2025, raw coal reached 9.75 million tons; coal consumption reached 12.8 million tons; Alumina products reached 385 thousand tons, consumption was 325 thousand tons; ore production reached 28.2 thousand tons, consumption reached 8.5 thousand tons. The accumulated copper plate production in the first quarter was 8.44 thousand tons, the consumption of copper plates reached 5.6 thousand tons.
The target for the first quarter is to produce 2.72 billion kWh of electricity; 18 thousand tons of explosives; 45.2 thousand tons of tons of tons of tons of tons of Am down.
To complete the set targets, TKV will strengthen management and supervision of production and business sectors with operational goals and technical and management solutions; Proactively produce and mix coal processing to ensure coal supply for electricity production in 2025 according to Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister; direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on ensuring coal supply for electricity production in 2025 and the following years.
Continue to raise awareness of responsibility in natural disaster prevention, search and rescue in the dry season, directing the strengthening of management and inspection of occupational safety and hygiene, security and order, and protection of mine boundary resources; Maintain stable operations at mineral - smelting plants, ensure output and ensure safety and the environment.
