Vietjet today marked two important milestones at Long Thanh International Airport with the groundbreaking ceremony of an international standard technical hangar project and the first flight to the new airport, affirming a strategic advance in investing in modern and sustainable aviation technical infrastructure.

Vietjet's technical hangar project, started on August 19, 2025, belongs to the aircraft maintenance technical center complex in Long Thanh with a total investment of up to 100 million USD, on a scale of 8.4 hectares. The aircraft maintenance project No. 3 and No. 4 is designed, managed and supervised by international corporations Mace (UK) and Apave (France), standing out with a super-school steel structure, meeting the strict technical standards of the global aviation industry. When put into operation, the hangar complex is capable of simultaneously receiving and maintaining 6 narrow-body aircraft and 2 wide-body aircraft, or 10 narrow-body aircraft.

In just 4 months, the project was completed on schedule in many challenging construction conditions, affirming the quick implementation capacity, discipline and high determination of Vietjet and international partners. The project plays an important role in improving domestic technical capacity, reducing maintenance costs abroad, increasing the efficiency of airline operations, and at the same time creating more jobs and economic value for the southern region of the country.

In parallel with infrastructure development, Vietjet has carried out the first flight to Long Thanh International Airport, a meaningful event with the participation of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and leaders of relevant ministries, branches and agencies. Flight VJ038, operated by Airbus A321neo, with the image of a red flag with a yellow star, took off from Tan Son Nhat at 035, and landed in Long Thanh at 08:30 on the same day. Careful preparation, modern equipment and a professional crew have ensured a safe, convenient, and planned flight.
With a new, modern fleet and a wide domestic and international flight network, Vietjet continues to affirm its long-term vision, commitment to sustainable investment, and pioneering role of private enterprises in developing aviation technical infrastructure, contributing to promoting the country's growth and integration.
