On December 19, Nam Ba Don Commune Police (Quang Tri Province) said that they had just coordinated with the Phong Nha Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development to receive a black langur from Ha Tinh voluntarily handed over by Mr. Le Xuan Quan, residing in Tien Phong village, Nam Ba Don commune.
According to the authorities, the black langur Ha Tinh (scientific name Trachypithecus hatinhensis) weighs about 5 kg and is currently in stable health.
Previously, this langur lived wild in the stone compaction area near residential areas, often moving down to find food and attacking people.
To ensure community safety and avoid unfortunate consequences, on December 16, 2025, some people in Tien Phong village set traps, arrested the langur and promptly handed it over to the local authorities for handling according to regulations.
Nam Ba Don Commune Police have coordinated with Quang Trach Forest Protection Department, Nam Ba Don Commune People's Committee and Mr. Le Xuan Quan to hand over the black langur Ha Tinh to the Phong Nha - Quang Tri Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development for further care, nurturing and releasing it back into the natural environment when it is in good health.
