Viettel and Petrolimex have just signed a strategic cooperation agreement, opening a new phase of cooperation between two large state-owned enterprises in the fields of digital transformation and green energy transition.
The signing ceremony took place on May 25 at Viettel headquarters in Hanoi. According to the content of the agreement, the two sides will focus on cooperation on six strategic pillars to connect digital infrastructure with the national energy ecosystem.
In the field of digital infrastructure and smart operation, Viettel will share experience in building information technology - telecommunications architecture on a corporation scale. At the same time, the two sides will deploy the smart gas station model (Smart Petrol Station), apply artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) in tank measurement, traffic monitoring and leak warning at stores, warehouses and pipelines of Petrolimex.
Viettel's cloud computing service will also be used to increase security and maintain stable operation for Petrolimex's technology system.
In the field of retail and digital customer service, the two businesses will coordinate to deploy non-cash payment solutions at the Petrolimex gas station system through ePass traffic accounts and platforms such as Viettel Money and My Viettel.
The two sides will also integrate customer data management systems, enterprise resource management and automated customer care to enhance the user experience.
In the field of big data and artificial intelligence, Viettel and Petrolimex will share data management experiences throughout the enterprise system. At the same time, the two sides cooperate to build information security solutions and security standards suitable for large-scale enterprise models.
Notably, this cooperation is also aimed at the field of clean energy and new business models. The two groups will study and implement renewable energy projects, promote the roadmap for vehicle electrification and develop electric vehicle charging station systems in Viettel's ecosystem.
In addition, Viettel and Petrolimex will also coordinate to develop services related to gasoline and oil, non-life insurance and exchange business administration experience.
Speaking at the event, Chairman cum General Director of Viettel - Tao Duc Thang, said that both Viettel and Petrolimex are businesses that play an important role in the Vietnamese economy and social life.
According to Mr. Thang, cooperation will help both sides take advantage of each other's strengths to build practical technology and service solutions, creating practical value for the community and the economy.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Van Thanh - Chairman of Petrolimex's Board of Directors said that the cooperation between the two enterprises is not only of economic significance but also of strategic value for the two foundational fields of energy and national digital infrastructure.
Mr. Thanh believes that if implemented effectively, the connection between digital infrastructure and the energy ecosystem will contribute to improving national competitiveness, promoting digital transformation and better serving people as well as businesses.
