The gold market in 2026 has experienced many strong fluctuations. After a significant plunge at the beginning of the year, domestic and world gold prices continuously struggled, at times falling deeply in just a short time.
However, considering the one-year cycle, those who bought gold from July 9, 2025 and hold it to date still recorded significant profits. In which, gold rings brought the highest profit of up to 27.5 million VND/tael.
SJC gold increases by nearly 28 million VND/tael after a year
On July 9, 2025, SJC gold bar price at DOJI was listed at 118.6-120.6 million VND/tael. Currently, the price is listed at 145.5-148.5 million VND/tael.
Compared to the same period, the buying price increased by 26.9 million VND/tael, and the selling price increased by 27.9 million VND/tael. Gold buyers on July 9, 2025 and resale after a year made a profit of 24.9 million VND/tael.
For Bao Tin Minh Chau, the price of SJC gold bars increased from 118.6-120.6 million VND/tael to 144.3-148.3 million VND/tael.
After a year, the buying price increased by 25.7 million VND/tael, while the selling price increased by 27.7 million VND/tael. Gold buyers a year ago are currently making a profit of 23.7 million VND/tael.
Thus, although the market has experienced strong declines, SJC gold buyers from a year ago are still making a profit of 23.7-24.9 million VND/tael, depending on the brand.

Gold rings bring higher profits
The profitability of gold rings in one year is higher than SJC gold bars at the surveyed brands.
At DOJI, the price of gold rings increased from 115-117 million VND/tael to 144.5-148.5 million VND/tael.
In 12 months, the buying price increased by 29.5 million VND/tael, while the selling price increased by 31.5 million VND/tael. Buyers from a year ago are now also making a profit of 27.5 million VND/tael.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau, the gold ring price on July 9, 2025 is listed at 115.2-118.2 million VND/tael. Currently, the price is at 144.3-148.3 million VND/tael.
Compared to the same period last year, the buying price increased by 29.1 million VND/tael, and the selling price increased by 30.1 million VND/tael. Gold ring buyers at this brand are making a profit of 26.1 million VND/tael after a year.
Thus, gold ring buyers from July 9, 2025 to now are making a profit of 26.1-27.5 million VND/tael. This profit is about 2-3 million VND/tael higher than SJC gold bars.

World gold prices increase by more than 23% after a year
Not only the domestic market, world gold prices are also at a significantly higher level than the same period last year.
On July 9, 2025, the world gold price was at 3,299.4 USD/ounce. By July 9, 2026, the price was at 4,076.8 USD/ounce.
After a year, world gold prices increased by 777,4 USD/ounce, equivalent to about 23.6%.
Although the profit after a year is still attractive, people need to be cautious with the psychology of fear of missing opportunities (FOMO), especially during times when gold prices fluctuate strongly. Purchasing when prices are already in high territory can quickly cause investors to fall into a state of loss if the market reverses direction.
Currently, the difference between the buying and selling prices at many brands is up to 3-4 million VND/tael. This gap forces buyers to wait for prices to increase significantly before being able to break even.
In addition, the current decline in world gold prices is a factor that needs special attention. If selling pressure in the international market continues to increase, domestic gold prices may be affected and deeper corrections may appear.
In the context of unpredictable market fluctuations, gold buyers need to carefully consider their investment goals, limit the use of borrowed money and should not pour all capital into gold just because they are afraid of missing the opportunity to increase prices.
